Okay this is the last Clep I need to get my degree in the mail. I have already walked with my class in June. I just need 3.02 credits remaining so it is better for me to take 1 test that will give me more than enough credits than paying for 2 (3 credit tests!) so I need a little feedback from the Instacert family, Humanities or AIL? Both seem pretty tough content wise but I gotta pass....what's the vote??
Thanks

If you have extensive knowledge in either classical music, visual art, or literature, I would say Humanities would be a good one The IC Flash Cards for this test are very good.
But -- for most people, A&I Lit is far less scary looking. Indeed, I thought it was pretty easy. If you use the REA book to study, you'll be able to pass with flying colorls. If you don't want to buy a book, use the
free Peterson's tests and Google to study up on your literary terms.
Whichever one you choose, I hope it goes very well.

I did the AIL and didn't find it that difficult at all. I did review the literary terms which was the hardest part. If you like to read and were good with English in school you probably wouldn't find it that difficult. I did get a lot of "old English" poems and short stories so you have to be able to intrepret the meanings of the "old English" words, but it wasn't that hard. I did the practice exam, but my reading selections on the actual exam were much longer than on the practice exams otherwise that would give you some idea of what to expect. Good luck in your choice!

A&I Lit for sure. It's a glorified reading comp test, kind of like those lame standardized tests they gave us in High School. Unless you're really bad with english, you should do fine.

Definitely go for A&I Lit. I studied several weeks for the Humanities test and barely studied at all for A&I.

A & I. I passed it yesterday with a 70. My studying consisted of 2 peterson's practice tests. If you can read the New York Times, the economist, or a peice of literature (romance novels don't count) and have an idea of what the author is talking about you can nail this exam. Like the other posters have said, it is a long, drawn out, reading comprehension test.

I'll add another vote for A&I lit, though both were VERY doable with little/no preparation.
Best of luck!

A&I Lit was one of the ones I did not even study for, and I scored somewhere in the 70s.
However, if you are better at just straight memorization, Humanities might be easier. Did you take American Literature and/or English Literature? If so, the analyzing portion of those tests are pretty much what you can expect on A&I.
PROGRESS: Last semester and accepted into a PhD program!

A I Lit for sure......never did Lit in H/school because I had a choice, but I was beyond average in english, and I read a lot.....my point is, I knew half of the terminologies and learned the other half.......got a 58 because I took too much time to read the passages and had 15 questions answered.
