I'm indulging myself one more time
#1
I know there's the 'Post Your Results' thread, but I wanted to get just one more pat on the back here first! I just took the A & I Lit CLEP. It was so difficult to study for as I like just memorizing the facts. This one was so HARD for me. I thought I was going to faint a few times during it. The guy next to me kept drinking from a can of pop; I would have given $5 for water bottle right about then!

The funny thing is Riley, my son, was sitting on the other side of me taking his College Math CLEP. He's just cruising along, with no signs of stress, while I'm, well, like he said to me after the test, "you didn't look so good, mom". An understatement.

I made it through to the end though and did the survey, pausing to press the final button and there it was.....70 for a score!! Exact score Ruddigore got on this one. Must be genetic. Cool

Oh, another thing, we walked out of the test center, me relating how I thought the test was so hard, how I was so drained, etc. We got all the way to the van, got in, me still rattling on and on, sat down, and then realized that he was holding his score for the College Math test face down on his lap. I never had asked him how he did! We had a good laugh about that and he showed me his score of 73 so all's well that ends well. Big Grin

I'll know that is a normal feeling to have during that test!

Hi! I'm so happy you did so well. I'm going to take the CLEP College Math in 2 days (so nervous) and I'm praying the material on here is what I might see on the exam. Do you know if he studied from this website as his resource? Does he have any tips for us College Math CLEP takers?? Thanks and ConGRATS again!

Congratulations!!! I hope I can do that well when I take the test next week.
I have not been in school for over 20 years, so I'm really nervous about the
exam. It's really hard to know what to study for. Let me know if you have
any pointers.

PS: My 18 year old daughter will be taking her Humanities exam at the same
time I take the A&I Literature exam. She starts college next month and
will have a semester behind her with the AP tests and Clep exams.

That's because I wasn't stressed! I forced myself to go through the questions again at the end, because I knew the longer I spent on my exam, the less time I would have to spending waiting for Mom to finish hers!

Later, I looked in through a side window to see if she was done, and she looked like she was going to cry or something. I thought something terrible had happened! But when I entered the testing room she was all smiles -- even though she could barely wait to tell me how hard the test was.

I used IC plus the Peterson's review section. I used the REA tests from the general exam test book. I got a scaled score of 60 on the first test and 66 on the second, so you can kind of get an idea on how much better the real exam was. Big Grin Hope it goes as well for you as it did for me!

Wow! Congratulations both of you! It's so much fun (and encouraging) to hear these kind of stories. It's also really sweet the way you guys are testing together...I'm sure it's good (read: annoying) for both of you to have each other around to keep you focused on your studying! Wink

Good Job both of you. And i agree - the most nerve-racking time of the test is that final button: "You sure you want to exit this section? Proceed?"
Augh!!!
Oh well. I guess once you've done it enough times (and passed) you don't worry so much.
me = Cool
