I need 2 quick free elective for Tesc. NFA??
#1
Hi all

I need 2 quick free electives for Tesc. I am thinking of taking 2 NFA courses. Which courses are the ones TESC takes or any other ideas besides fema. I have a bunch of fema.

Thanks

When you say "free electives" do you mean you need "free elective" courses or free courses to take to fill in the electives? If you have the time to spend to find a proctor then you can probably squeeze in a CLEP or DSST and get some credits quick. For me courses like Intro to Computing or Intro to MIS both only took about 45 minutes to take and didn't require study. Pick an exam that sounds like a topic you know and spend a few minutes going over the material.

Depending on your background, many people have found these exams to require no study (although I always recommend you look into them first):
-Analyze and Interpret Literature (6 credit CLEP)
-Intro to Computing DSST OR Information Systems and Computer Applications CLEP (3 credits each, TESC only takes one or the other)
-Principles of Supervision (if you've managed staff before this one has a very low percentage needed to pass)

Basically you'd have to pay for an exam instead of an NFA course, but it could be quicker and well worth the time.
My completed "non-traditional" credits include 27 credits from CLEP, 30 credits from DSST, 6 credits from ALEKS, 19 credits from FEMA courses including PDS, 3 credits from NFA courses, 10 credits from ACE Workplace Training, 3 credits from a TESC TECEP exam, and 3 credits from a TESC PLA course.

How many FEMAs do you already have? I believe that TESC takes up to 32 or 33 FEMA credits so if you haven't maxed that out yet, it might be easier & faster just to do a couple of more free FEMAs & be done with it.
