I wasn't going to go get the REA book but I think I am now. The study guide I got sent to me was great and I got 50 on that out of 100 also, not sure what study guide it was but I got through it ok. I think REA is my next and probably last step, I just can't believe I'm having such a hard time with this one! Where do you ge the SD video's

Mindy,
Your thing or not, it's doable. Go back to the basics- you need to know the who, what, where, when and why of the subject. Print out the specific exam feedback and use it like a check list. Take your time, work your way through the subjects and apply yourself seriously for a few days. I always feel like there is a point when it starts to click, you'll get it, just keep going.

I am going to be so sick of psychology soon. I have been studying it nonstop for weeks now. It's tougher than many people think.
Anyway, I have found that I don't do well if I just read something and then take a practice test. I usually only remember ,like, 35% of what I read. It was very discouraging at first. My practice test scores go WAY up when I take notes, draw diagrams, and make flashcards (and actually flip through them). Maybe you're the same way as me, more of a visual and interactive learner, and you should try just changing your methods, not so much changing your material.

All you need are these 2 things, and study hard. You will get it. Make sure to get the REA w/CD for the 2 practice tests. It's worth the extra few bucks. Break a leg!

I agree, Mindy. Gone are the days of "all you need is IC" in my opinion. I did IC first, then the REA book. I tried the practice tests in the REA book and didn't do well. BUT...after I started on the sparknotes, is when things started to click and I did well on the REA's after that! I'll repeat this cycle one more time, and then go test!

I did Intro to Psych about a month ago and I can absolutely attest to the fact that Sparknotes ($14.95) will cover all that is on the test. I was a little surprise to learn how much of what I studied was on the actual test. The notes are available online for free or you can purchase the book in the store which was what I did.
Good luck, and don't let fear of failure paralyze your ability to attack this challenge.

I took Psychology last week. If you study the REA book really hard, go through the IC cards a couple times, and supplement by quickly reading (almost skimming) a textbook (
this one for instance), you'll do great!
CLEP tests taken:
76 - College Algebra
57 - American Government
74 - Precalculus
75 - Analyzing & Interpreting Literature
65 - Chemistry
72 - History of the U.S. 1
70 - History of the U.S. 2
74 - Introductory Psychology
73 - Biology
64 - English Composition
