Yes, it does!  The case studies are specific to the textbook, so you must buy the correct edition.  I have the 21st edition - it was expensive, so I rented it.

Yep I just ordered the 21st edition as well =). It is what it says to buy on the MBS thing for the nov capstone.  I found it for cheap online else where i hope it is the correct one. I want to start reading it after i finish my 2 study courses this month.

i wonder if the paper edition is the same as the hardcover on amazon. Amazon rental is $50~ but you need to add +15 for extension since the rental is only till dec. I see the looseleaf edition for 53 used but not sure about it.

Much excitement for all of us doing the capstone together. Though dfrecore you are ahead.

For the midterms did you register on the first week of class and did you do the ets proficiency exam?

If you found the cheap online version, it may not be correct.  I purchased an International Version of a book once for another course, and although all of the words for each chapter were correct, the chapters were all out of order.  Not sure if that's always the case.

Mine is due back Dec 18, which is the day after the last paper is due, so I'm good!  I ordered it a week before school started.

Is there a mandatory time you have to show up online  or anything like that? How many pages is the case study paper=)

I am doing the guided study, because I LOATHE having to do the blog posts, it's a huge time-waster for me, and so damn stupid.  I'm even willing to give up 100% on those stupid things to stay away from them.

Also, we are going on vacation for two of the weeks during the time period, so it was easier for me to do the GS and do my work before leaving - I do NOT want to log in and write blog posts while I'm in Maui with my husband for our anniversary - no thank you!  Or Cabo with the family...seriously.
A couple questions:
1.  Is the textbook publisher's web access needed along with the textbook?  Are you using anything at all from the textbook publisher's web portal?
2.  About how many hours/day is it taking you for this course?  I'm asking because we're trying to decide whether to have our son drop out of CC classes next semester in order to take the BUS-421 capstone.  He's also working 20 hours/week and he's not a fast writer.  We weren't sure if he needs to devote all his nonworking time to this course or if there's still time to squeeze in a CC Calc II class.  Looking at January start date for both TESU capstone and CC class.
I came to this forum researching for my now 17-yr-old son who was earning credits via testing and online courses. He completed TESU's BUS-421 in March 2018, the capstone for the TESU BSBA GM degree.  Below are the courses he took:
Study.com: Business 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 109, 113, 121, 308, 309; Economics 101, 102; Finance 101, 102; History 103, 104, 106, 108; Math 103; Political Science 102; Religion 101; Geology 101; Nutrition 101; Chemistry 101; English 305
SL: Intro to Communications, Accounting 1&2, Financial Accounting
ALEKS: Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, PreCalculus, Statistics
TEEX: Cybersecurity 101, 102, 103
Sophia: Developing Effective Teams

Community College: English 101 & 102, Calculus 1

i think many of us are buying the used text book. Its about ~50 to rent the book on amazon you may need to pay the extra $15 for the rental extension. For myself I'm a terrible writer so I'm rushing all my courses on study.com atm to only have Bus-421 on my list when it comes Oct 30th. I plan to buy the text book ahead a couple of days earlier and try to write essays early once the syllabus is posted for my course.

From reading the GS syllabus that dfrecore posted it looks like the reading is one-two chapters a week. + writing a 4 page case study or discussion assignment each week. + midterm for the first couple of modules

For week 10 you have to do both.. also a 14+ pages finals that you have to start writing in the middle of the course which will be your final project. I wonder if i can get a course extension on this to add 2 extra weeks.

Im working part-time as well and im scared about this capstone lol becasue when it comes to writing i just go into a daze. If you want me to watch 20 hr of video in 2-3 days i can do that but when it comes to writing my mind just goes zzz. many people say its ok just alot of hard work and this is the final push. I mean no matter what.. there is no avoiding it and you have to take it at some point. TESU may even add more requirements in the future or make it harder who knows. Its better to push yourself and try to fight the fears. cause there will be more scarier and nervous shit in life later on that you will have to face like job interviews.. finding jobs and etc. So that's why i signed up for the capstone this month vs next month. My only fear atm is how to write a correct case study but from the looks of it the book will walk you through.

Some one finished the capstone while doing 2 or 4 courses. He started with 10 credits finished and graduated in 4 months.. he a beast lol.
I think dfrecore is doing fine as well she said the discussion assignments are like 2-3 short paragraphs its just all down to time management. But always good to hear other ppls feedback.

So from looking at the syllabus for the online verison it is the same as the GS one except the discussion topics has 6 more than the GS. So definitely more writing and more work but the grading % is different so your finals is graded less harsh compared to the GS one. The case study is the same along with the discussion topics

Your grade in the course will be determined as follows:

Online discussions (11)—15 percent
Case Study assignments (7)—35 percent
Midterm exam (proctored online, Modules 1–4)—25 percent
Proficiency assessment—5 percent
Final project—20 percent

GS

Case study assignments (7) 35 percent
Discussion assignments (5) 10 percent
Midterm examination 25 percent
Final project 30 percent
All

Nothing scary so far.  You read the chapter and then apply what you've learned to a case study, I didn't think it was difficult, and actually thought it quite interesting.

No online discussions with the GS course.  You have to write a short paper for "discussion" assignments, but they're really just answering the instructor's questions in short essay format - no interaction with other students at all.  Thank GOD!

I'm including the syllabus, as I don't think it's secret or anything.  You can see for yourself what the assignments are.
I just finished the course.  I took the self guided course. I did two pages for the discussion assignment and four pages for the case study (all double spaced).  The mid term consisted of five questions to be answered in essay format and got a 98.  I was asked the professor if I could pick my own topic for the final paper and he agreed.  I got 100 on all papers.  The course is very interesting and went by fast.

Thanks for posting the gs syllabus I could only find the online one. It makes me feel better looking at it. Seem like they give you some time to do each one. Is there an extension available? Also how many words is estimate for the short essay lol sorry for asking so many questions trying to calm my nerves when it comes to writing thank you for your help =)

Wow all those case studies that was picked is good. All of those companies are good case study and fun to write about.  I hope my professor will pick the same ones.

You did 2 PAGES for the discussion assignments? Sheesh. The online discussion assignments were about 2 sentences each for the Liberal Arts Capstone. Seems to be a much different setup.
