The Michigan Bar Association offers certificate programs in elder law, probate and estate planning and family law via the Institute of Continuing Education. This is an organization supported by the Michigan Bar and most Michigan law schools.

The probate/estate planning certificate is $150, but the required seminars require premium membership at $80 per month and the seminars are offered during certain months of a two-year period. This means that the total cost would probably be about $2000 which might or might not be worth it. The terms do require that participants are attorneys, but how close this is monitored is anyone's guess.
I mostly post it here because there are 50 bar associations in the U.S. and there must be some out there that offer certificates like this that non-attorneys can take and might be cheap.
