I would like to do a CBE MPA but I hate the name Hodges.
 I really do.

That being said I might be doing it unless I can find an alternative program.

I also don't like how I haven't met many if any online who has done the Hodges MPA program.

I think the end result will be good. It will be beneficial.

I want to apply this week for next month.

Get it over with. 2018 goal started.

What's wrong with the name? It sounds like a typical European last name one would find in the U.S.

There are Ivy League School Names (Jr got accepted into XXXX = Wow! Graduated from XXXX= Impressive!)
Top Sport School Names (Did you catch any games?= Nice! Where you there when XXX was there? Sweet!)
State Power School Names (Ohio vs Michigan = Fun! UCLA vs USC=Once was fun
Then there are just a bunch of names, some we know for good reasons and some for bad reasons (quality of coursework, degree options, cost/high/low). The only schools that I would classify as having a bad name would be schools that are hard to say - if someone asks 'what school' after every time you share the name, this might be a bad name and all schools with bad reputations would definitely be a bad name.

Hodges University's name fits in that classic no negative/positive impact space with the majority of other school names.

An example of a bad name is University of the People. Some of it has to do with the anti-communism sentiment in the U.S., but a lot of it has to do with it not sounding like a real school. Real person and geographic names are usually safe choices, but a lot of diploma mills like to use international, global, American, national, and Columbia.

Haha, speaking of bad names, the one that came up was University of Maryland University College. Is it a U or a C? Make up your mind already! Hodges doesn't sound catchy or anything but not bad.

They definitely have an odd one - interesting enough, I have always felt their acronym UMUC rolled off smooth. Just need to keep your fingers crossed no one asks what school that is
