My Degree Journey Resumes
#1
After testing out of 57 credits in about a month I put my testing on hold while waiting for TESC & Excelsior to review my credits and tell me what was left to complete. I have 42 B&M and 6 AP credits from the 80's so I was getting close to the magic number. It took 10 days for my CLEP test scores to post at Excelsior, DSST(Prometric) took 23 days and AP lost my scores until today!

I finally gave up on the AP archive team a few days ago after hours on the phone with one supervisor after another and had resigned myself to taking the CLEP US History I&II. They promise archived score reports go out in 7 to 10 days in their archived score request form. After 3 weeks of waiting for them to post I began haranguing them to no avail. I was told I hadn't taken the test, I had taken a released test that they didn't score as well as a few other choice whoppers none of which involved any culpability whatsoever on their part. Today I got a message from a high level supervisor who informed me my
scores had been sent to TESC & Excelsior

I had a similar interaction with Prometric staff in July when they informed me with complete certainty that I had failed the Vietnam War test. I had actually passed with a 78 but a computer glitch made the score disappear temporarily.

I took the Civil War & Reconstruction as well as Environment&Humanity tests this morning so it felt like I earned 12 credits today. I have 3 WER credits and 9 free electives left to complete at TESC for a BALA in Social Studies. They disallowed the Am Gov CLEP I took as a duplicate of a B&M Am Politics class but they took the rest. By the way, they posted the Fundamentals of Counseling DSST as PSY 331 in my Social Studies degree plan. I have seen that question raised on the forum more than once.

The Excelsior review was a little different. They allowed both Am Gov& Am Pol but disallowed an upper level Political Science internship class because it was graded Pass/Fail but no letter grade. I had no idea that was a policy at EC They also incorrectly short counted my remaining upper division credits by 3 and did not give me WER credit for a writing 102 class. Perhaps the Excelsior transcript reviewers are overlooking some things. As it stands EC they say I need 24 upper division credits, 6 WER credits, 1 Information Literacy Credit and some specific credits within the History requirements. They also refuse to answer any questions about the review until I enroll.

If I can complete my last 4 tests in the next 2 weeks I may sneak under the October 1 graduation deadline wire at TESC. That being the case, I should head over to the flashcard section.

Wow, that is some amazing work in a such a short time. Did you pass all of those tests while working full time as well? Either way, it's impressive stuff.
