My GRE scores...finally
#1
First off before I forget my study stuff is in the Exchange forum for sale or barter.....

I now have both my GRE scores..the October one I got a scaled 670..139 questions correct out of 169 answered..this is in the 71% percentile and should be worth 24 credits at EC 12 LL and 12 UL.

When I spoke to the office there before taking it,the woman I spoke with said most people score around this and wind up adding credit via exam or class.

I felt I hadnt done all that well as you can see I didnt answer a fair amount, took me a bit to get in the groove with the test. Some things I hadnt hit as hard(see my feedback in the Exams thread). I was glad I had already signed up for #2, I did this as I was right on the cusp, according to the practice test. So I went home and studied what I felt was missing hard for the next 3 weeks. I took the exam, felt much, much better than I had on the first, even tho it seemed harder, I called in to get my scores and....

I got a 680 which is 75% percentile  ..I was really shocked...not that it makes whole lot of difference to me degree plan wise. It is basically break even for me in terms of time and money to get the extra 3 credits.

I am going to add to the GRE subject test thread in the feedback section but here is my basic take...There are two ways to hit this, kinda depending on your wants needs.

If you want to just grab as many quick credits as you can then take 3-4 weeks,Use an Intro book and 1-2 study guides...social and lifetime dev texts books are good also..texts are cheap maybe 5-10 per,use IC if you have the time (and any suggestions you like can work in from Feedback). Worst case you only get 3 credits and pay a little more than CLEP prices...best you get 30..thats 4.3 dollars a credit. I scored my 24 credits with 3 weeks, cost me 5.40 a credit. Study materails are extra but I will recoup most of that. If you study for 3 weeks and cant get 3 ? Well you have bigger issues...

I was doing this for the UL credits because I had the LL but I think that just about anyone and everyone should take it,just keep it low risk/lo cash.

If you want to really max it,you need to start early and study steady. Its like climbing a mountian, the further up you go the tougher it gets. I will add some of the details I mean and what I would do diff in the exam section but knowing me,my shortcomings, etc I want to say that you should go for it. If you want to Major in Psych it is the ONLY option that lets you test out 100%...No matter how you approach it,how much or little you get you will want to get as many of these cheapo credits as you can..then you can finish whatever is needed.

Personally the only time it wouldnt be good is if you want to cram but already have all the LL you need..even then you could do like me...the other is if I had all my basics sewed up and it was 4 months away..more expensive but I would do the sep ECEs cause you dont know how you will do...you could take it at the end of the streach and if you did max it cover the 2 Psy they require but dont have exams for....that alone is gonna cost you time and money.

I am adding to the feedback later the dog is chewing on my leg..that is an UNCONDITIONED response that he needs a walk. Questions post or PM me.
