BYU's Chinese Literature in Translation - Poetry, is officially on my degree plan. CHI 360 is confirmed to both fulfill the nonwestern literature requirement AND serve as an upper-level course!  And, frankly, it looks super interesting.  I hope this helps!

That's wonderful. I agree it looks very interesting. Being able to see the syllabus in advance is a real plus for me.

From what I can tell, the course will cost around $60 extra for proctoring, because we have to get a local proctor twice: "Students enrolled in University courses are required to take their exams at certified college testing centers." I don't see a mention of online proctoring, but I didn't search.

Therefore I would still be interested in hearing about other options, especially in the same price range ($600-$700). But this is very interesting because of the topic, and I think it's fully self-paced. That's a big plus to me.

These would be $864 each but I'm pretty sure online proctoring is available. Not sure how they'd transfer over to TESU but may be worth looking into. At OSU they're both LL courses, however I've had several LL courses from OSU transfer in as UL. (former OSU student here) Though they would come in as 2 or 2.66 credits due to OSU being on a quarterly system.

The problem is that you might have to take BOTH of these courses to get your full complement of the Non-western Lit requirement met.  Even if they gave you a waiver for the remaining amount, you'd have to find another course to get to the full AOS requirement, and possibly another UL course if you didn't get the full 18cr done.  That's a LOT to pay for a course, when you could take them from TESU for $1098 with the Study.com discount.

I don't mind if it's LL, by the way.

I made a note about the Univ of Idaho Indep Study World Lit. I glanced over the syllabus for 2257 and it includes a bit of Renaissance Spanish lit, so it might disqualify it? https://www.uidaho.edu/academics/dee/ind...h#Engl2257

It also doesn't appear to have online proctoring. But it is self-paced and only $510!

I'm guessing most World Lit courses would include literature from all over the world, so some Western Lit in there shouldn't disqualify it.

I thought someone already struck out trying to get TESU to accept a couple of different World Lit courses into that slot.
NanoDegree: Intro to Self-Driving Cars (2019)
Coursera: Stanford Machine Learning (2019)
TESU: BA in Comp Sci (2016)

That’s what I was thinking. They look like 90% non-western.

That Chinese Lit from BYU looks like the best option at the moment.
