My UMPI accounting plan - tear it apart please

I am done with teaching, looking to find something interesting to do for the rest of my working life.  I have an interest in accounting.  Don't need to become a CPA, just want to be marketable in some way outside of education.

I have a previous degree in education.  I also have a variety of random courses in education from renewing my teaching license.  

I am fairly certain that my previous degree will cover general education courses and electives. For the major courses below, are there certain classes that should or shouldn't be taken at UMPI?  Are there different alternative providers?  I only have 8 courses listed for UMPI.  I am aware that I need 10 courses (30 credits).

The IBM certificate on Coursers for BUS440 has expired so that isn't an option now. You should join the UMPI discord. Some of these classes on Study are far more work than at UMPI. Also if you're planning to go onto become a CPA you need to check your state regulations as some states will not accept ACE credits for the required business and accounting courses.

Maybe I misunderstand the ACE website then.  This link shows the IBM Data Analyst Professional Cert as approved for several more years.

Also, definitely not thinking about becoming a CPA.

Welcome to the board, it's great you're in the same country as the most of us (we can assist you easier), but you've not indicated which 'state'. The reason I ask is, even if you think of getting CPA or not, just in case something changes in your state, your accounting regulations may change state by state. UMPI BABA Accounting or their BA Accounting is geared for the state of Maine. The other thing is, you want to make sure you transfer in the max credits and have at least 10 classes for residency, did you verify the list above to make sure you have 10 classes to complete at UMPI?
