I have never had to do this either. I have some questions. Maybe they will get the conversation going to get you the help you need.
Do you have a form to fill out or are you starting from scratch? Have you already taken the ALEKS course? Did your school already reject the ACE transcript? Are you trying to get approval before taking the course? Does your school accept ACE approved credits? Are you trying to show that the ALEKS course is equivalent to a specific course at your school?
AS in 2010 and BS in 2013 at Excelsior College - Transcripts and Costs
MS Biostatistics in 2019 at Texas A&M University - Graduate School Sharing Credit-by-Exam* and Help for Veterans Resources Used - 20+ Exams Passed & General GRE Practice Tests - Available for CLEP and DSST * Link posted with permission from forum admin; thank you!

Need idea's or possible a rough draft Contact Susan Huggins, the Associated Director for Lifelong Learning at the American Council of Education. ACE | Center for Lifelong Learning | Contacts Susan was kind enough to write a letter of support for my homeschooled daughter who has 33 credits of CLEP/DSST to Southern Virginia University, a school that ordinarily does not accept CLEP/DSST. While we are still awaiting results, the Academic Affairs Council at SVU did unanimously agree to consider the request for exception to policy. I believe that the letter from ACE was important. Shawn

I have a petition form to fill out and having trouble in finding a voice to make it sound like it should be accepted.
I passed aleks course already, the problem is the credits show on my transcript but they show has misc. math credits. I need to write a petition to have them count it as intermediate algebra and not misc math credits.

Go to this link: The National Guide This has the course description for all of the ALEKS courses accredited by ACE. Keep in mind, you probably have one chance to win your appeal, so you want to make sure you have all of the evidence you need to support your argument. I would attach the course description from ACE, along with a letter from Ms. Huggins as I posted earlier. Good luck!

Mathematics - Course Products: Intermediate Algebra
You might find the PDF at the above link helpful, it shows the curriculum for that course . If you can show a direct correlation between the course your college is counting as Intermediate Algebra and the Aleks course you completed, that would help you in making a case. |
