Mmmh, does this mean that sending in two transcripts (such as one from ASU and one from ACE, like I did when I applied one month ago) actually counts for 2 evaluations?
It really depends on when TESU receives them. Back when I applied, they were taking 25 business days to do an eval, and they literally did not do it until day 25. So basically they'd create a file for you, and anything they received between application and day 24 was in there on hold until they did the eval, and it would count as a single one. Then you'd have a chance later to send new stuff and that would count as your second eval.
Now, it looks like they may have changed how they do this process, although it's unclear how. It's definitely a shorter time-period.

The evaluations (usually) seem to be taking a week or less to complete right now. With ASU via Parchment and ACE sent electronically, if you sent them in at the exact same time then it's likely it was just one evaluation. But if there are any paper transcripts involved then there's a good chance that each transcript now will count as a new evaluation.

Yes, this is what happened. When I applied, the admission counselor proposed me to put my ACE transcript on hold, so that I could send my ASU transcript right after, and have both of them processed as part of the same "transaction". So theoretically I should still have one evaluation available.
Anyway, let's suppose I ran out of "free" evaluations, should I worry about purchasing Medical Terminology TECEP right now, or should I wait until I have new credits to transfer in? In other words, in what circumstances does it become necessary to use the Medical Terminology TECEP "trick"?

@doom, Being enrolled actually is not a trick per say, the TECEP for Medical Terminology option is just a great way to extend the enrollment time. For example, if someone wanted to take courses and just do the minimum two courses and pay the residency waiver fee, then I would have them do the SOS-110 to have enrollment status and complete the rest of their courses, then finally end it with the Capstone.
Having said that, for those who are doing 16 credits, they can take two terms, first term with the easier courses and the second term to complete the capstone and maybe one more course. Something like do 10 LL credits for first term and 6 UL for the final term. This way, you don't get stressed too much with so many courses and assignments to complete or finish.
One more thing to note, for those who are doing a couple of degrees or may take a longer time to complete, that is the main use for the TECEP, to extend the catalog year "lock" and "continue enrollment". But, even if you forget to enroll yourself (yes, I purposely tested this out, I didn't enroll until a week after my enrollment lapsed), I paid for the same Medical Terminology TECEP to re-enroll in June.
PS: If you have taken a TECEP, or any courses with TESU, you can still retain your catalog year for up to 3 years of inactivity, meaning, if you forget to enroll, you still have up to that 3 years. Basically, my 2018 catalog year is so much better than 2019a or later... I just didn't want to chance it, (I even emailed them and verified my assumption), I don't want headaches later, the $50 is well worth it.

In regards to how fast evaluations are being completed now, I sent in my ASU transcript on Saturday or Sunday and then I sent in my SDC transcript on Monday. I just got the email that my latest evaluation was complete. This did only add a handful of courses to my TESU transcript but this is still extremely fast!

Really? What kind of transcript did you send in? ACE? If you sent in a transcript on the old system, you might need to email them to ask what's up.
