I have arrived at the point where I need to make a formal decision on matriculating at COSC. I started with 12 credits in February and now have 87. I have been following the outline they provided with my application for an intended major of Organizational Leadership. Looking ahead, I am having a hard time believing that I can meet the concentration requirements in Managerial Finance and Accounting, Organizational Communication and Strategic Planning. Maybe I am just choking in the final stretch? I have not formally matriculated to keep my options open. My true question is, should I try to complete the concentration at COSC, switch majors or enroll elsewhere? It makes my head hurt just thinking about it. Any advice is most appreciated. Thanks, Barb

First off, great job!!! Are you asking, "Should I consider getting a BS Business from Excelsior or a BSBA from TESC?"

I started out thinking that I'd be content with a BS Business. Now I'm in the middle of two Masters programs. Most MBA programs require competency in a handful of courses as a pre-requisite. Rarely do they require an undergraduate business degree. When researching future job opportunities in the government for my son who is currently near the end of completing a BSBA CIS from TESC (and employed as a DoD civilian), many government jobs require a BA with 21-24 business credits, not a specific BSBA or BS Business.

I have a BS Business from Excelsior and I am stepping my son through a TESC BSBA CIS. While you might take a quick glance at the TESC BSBA and figure if the added cost and time are worth a BSBA as opposed to a BS with a Business Concentration, I wouldn't spend a lot of time second guessing yourself. There is no single right way. What you have accomplished already will open doors for you. Keep moving forward!!!

Just wanted to say that I am so pleased with the 9 credits I have earned since January. I am absolutely amazed by the 75 credits you have earned since February!

It is okay to take a few minutes and figure out the rest of your plan. You are doing so great!!

Thank you so much NAP! You should be just as proud of your credits. The number only matters as a means to an end. The truly hard part is staying the course. Well done to you as well and thanks for the encouragement. Smile

I have been checking around. It seems like they all have roadblocks in those final core requirements. Excelsior was looking really good until I got to that Business Strategy requirement. That one is really set in stone.
I have been able to re-focus on my studies for the last group of tests while debating the options. Deepest thanks for all the help! All this angst has almost made me consider a career change to a college advisor.......but there is that whole Masters thing! Smile
