New Sophia Course Healthcare Management
#1
ACE recommended for 3 upper-level credits starting June 1 this year, and live online now.

18 challenges, 4 milestones, no final milestone. 3 touchstones: a 750-100 word essay, an 8-12 slide show with speaker notes, and an 8-10 page strategic improvement plan for a suburban primary care clinic described in a case study.

The UL probably helps people save money on UMPI degrees and other programs that require upper-level credit.

Also nice for people interested in Healthcare Management.

UMPI isn't accepting Sophia courses the same anymore. Many of the courses are now an elective. The ACE recommendation isn't a guarantee on UL credit either.

At least Sophia is adding in UL courses. With the touchstones I would hope UMPI and other schools would give full credit for these courses and transfer them in as UL.

UL is still just a recommendation. If Healthcare Management at UMPI is a 100 level course and this were accepted then it would transfer as a 100 level course. Some of the ACE recommendations don't make any sense. I say this as someone who has taken a lot of college courses. Many courses they recommend as UL are often LL at many colleges.

Hmm, I wonder what institutions would take this in as lower level and which ones would bring this in as upper level. UMPI has made changes to their view of Sophia.org and Study.com, their stance has changed. Having said that, other institutions such as Excelsior, TESU, etc, may still remain favorable as they mainly follow ACE recommendations.
