New Study.com courses (5/16/19)
@mysonx3 the equivalent UL course at TESU may be the capstone lol...TESU wont ever allow their capstone to transfer in.

@armstrongsubero

That was a thought I had as well, but it seems like they could've just made it CMP-399 instead of CMP-299.

Also, I can't seem to can't seem to find this "capstone" in TESU's course list, but maybe I'm missing it

Thanks for the inputs.

Do they accept CompTIA network+ + certification or Any other courses from SDC?

TECEP - How to prepare for that? Are there any books available covering the subject?

Network+ transfers in as ITS-140 and Security+ transfers in as CYB-220: https://www2.tesu.edu/oapwl/company.php?...nt=CompTIA
The Microsoft Database and Security Fundamentals exams transfer in as ITS-130 and CYB-120: https://www2.tesu.edu/oapwl/company.php?...=Microsoft
Cisco CCNA - Routing & Switching transfers in as ITS-240: https://www2.tesu.edu/oapwl/company.php?...ient=Cisco
LPI Linux Essentials transfers in as ITS-261: https://www2.tesu.edu/oapwl/company.php?...client=LPI

And, for upper level credit, the EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker certification transfers in as CYB-320: https://www2.tesu.edu/oapwl/company.php?...EC-Council

In regards to the course Current Trends & Applications coming in as a lower level CMP-299 course is that, the Big 3 doesn't have to follow ACE/NCCRS recommendations (it's updated regularly in their transfer agreement/PLA databases) and TESU has a reason to believe it's lower level until some students appeal that decision successfully.

APS-401 Current Trends & Applications is the Capstone for the BSIT and BS degree programs (formerly BSAST), the course has to be taken at TESU. Here is the course link: https://www2.tesu.edu/course.php?CourseCode=APS-401&sem=

For Network Technology CMP354 (UL) - I highly recommend doing the TECEP instead of the online course, you save so much $ from it. There are recommended resources in the PDF. Here are the links: https://www2.tesu.edu/course.php?CourseC...de=CMP-354 and https://www2.tesu.edu/tecep.php?CourseCode=CMP-354

Final Note The Network Technology course is also available at Study.com, but it will come in as Lower Level. The course transfer agreement lists it, but accidentally placed the course in the Business section instead of the Computer Science section. It comes in as CMP-254 (LL) - Computer Science 304: Network System Design >> CMP-254 : Network Technology

If that is acceptable in the degree plan, you're better off paying $70 at Study.com vs $225 at TESU. For your degree, be it BSIT or BS (BSAST), they require certain UL courses that add up to 18 credits at the Upper Level (including the capstone). I would suggest LL for $70 at Study.com unless you need it for UL, then do the TECEP.

Well yeah, obviously they don't have to, but are there any other courses that are supposed to be UL that they only bring in as LL?

I would require LL credit, therefore, I will go with SDC.

One of the advisors placed in my evaluation Network Technology CMP354 into the UL CS electives for BACS.  How's the TECEP compared to SDU or SL?  What's the ballpark estimate to prepare for this exam?  I know my way around computers but haven't taken any classes or have any experience with networks aside from basic wifi/router home setup. LOL.  Thanks again!
