Officially giving up on Sophia credits transferring
#11
I'm not sure if it's the chat message I sent to Sophia or the survey from ACE over the last 24hrs mine have sporadically popped up. It's a waiting game that no one really wants to play. Hopefully it's resolved soon.

I just logged in to my twins' Sophia accounts and there are now Get Your Badge buttons. EXCEPT for the 2 courses that we've been waiting on. Well, hopefully it's a step in the right direction.

Same. Just logged into my Sophia account and I see "get your badge" on everything BUT the 3 courses that are missing.

To add to that - the more time they (Sophia) spend responding to the same request, is less time they can actually spend acting on each request.

Can I suggest we just relax for a bit? I know it must be frustrating, and I can understand the criticisms and belief that this transition could've been handled better, but unless you need those credits RIGHT THIS MINUTE, I genuinely cannot see the value in getting all het up about it.

If credits are going to transfer (and based on the communication from ACE, this remains an clearly stated goal), credits will transfer. It might not be in the timeframe you want it to, but again, unless there is a window closing for you in the next 15-20 days, is it really an emergency?

Worst case scenario, if ACE is going to abandon the credits, and Sophia is never going to transfer your badges: no amount of fretting and complaining will change that. But it will drive you crazy with rumination, and probably shorten your lifespan by stressing, which strikes me as a net loss.

Let people have some time with their families, wait for the New Year, and then follow up again. Unless you were personally sending transcripts out every 3 weeks, I can't see why now that the system's changed, we can't all just hold tight.

I don’t think most people are ticked off at Sophia. Probably more  Confused or concerned  when they put in request for badges and get Only 90% of them, so you wonder “ok” did something get missed. You call them and they tell you you should see them in a few days and Then that doesn’t happen. We will wait and Sophia will more than likely get it all figured out and caught up. I don’t think following up after a week of no activity is slowing anything or anyone down and only makes sense to do so. I would say Sophia would even agree with that. That being said I’ve bragged on Sophia from the get go of this pandemic when I first discovered them and I will continue to do so. Kudos to Sophia.

With that said , I don’t think Sophia is “lying”. What is their motive for that ? They didn’t change this process, ace did. They probably don’t like it anymore than we do. I’m sure many many people are trying to get badges all at once. They’ve been nothing but professional and very polite everytime I’ve spoken with them. But I will check With them once a week until my case is resolved.

The folks who work the call center are not the people who doing the programming to get the badges into our accounts. Totally different groups of people.

There is a MASSIVE window closing for everyone who is trying to complete their TESU degree. There's like 8 days left for them! This has dragged on for over a month and a half and there are still NO answers!

Actually, I am getting ticked off at Sophia. I have NOTHING in my Acclaim account and I have asked. The only course which I have a badge for is the one I finished in November after the transition. None of my other courses have transferred over. I'm not the only one either. I've been waiting for over a month and a half. I also paid Sophia for a membership so it's not like I only have free classes and nothing more. They did get paid by me and they're not really helping me out with this badge issue.

Before people panic, you actually have 2 more months to get your ACE credits over to TESU if you're going to be using more than 90 of them. You have 8 days left to apply to TESU in the first place. Different deadlines.

Sophia still needs to get things straightened out, though.

Deadline 1: Apply to TESU before December 31st, 2020 (it technically says Jan. 1st, 2021 but why wait until the last minute?)
Deadline 2: Enroll in a class/TECEP for the January, February, or March terms to become an enrolled student.
Deadline 3: Send all of your ACE credits to TESU by March 1st.

Yeah I wouldn't wait until 1/1. The internet will crash or something for someone.

I chatted two times with Sophia regarding missing badges. A few days after my first chat session I received 13 badges out of 20.
One week later I asked them about the 7 missing badges and was assured that they were managing my request and that I would receive them very soon.
About two weeks later, nothing had changed.
Checked my Acclaim account repeatedly during last weekend: always the same.
Checked again on Monday: incredibly one of the missing badges popped up (Public Speaking).

Hope to see the remaining badges before Saturn completes its orbit.

Agree, and this would be the one point of contention I too would have. That said, I know what it's like on the other side, where trying to get one thing done requires the coordination of multiple people - it's amazing how colleague will cheerfully claim 'oh yeah, I can get that done for you tomorrow', and so you tell the client who keeps demanding an answer: 'we'll have to you in a couple of business days, end of the week the latest' and then a week later, still nothing. You can't tell the client about your moron coworker, or the idiotic state legislation and ridiculous paperwork, or whatever it is that has held things up. Things like this happen even in the most normal of circumstances. And right now things are hardly 'normal'.

So I wouldn't want to tell people how to feel and to 'simmer down', just as much as I wouldn't appreciate others instructing me to panic. More than ever people probably want to maintain as much control as possible.
It's just a friendly suggestion to maintain perspective and patience.

I have little skin in this game. It'd be nice for those 30-odd credits I earned to be there already, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not the most paramount. I realise others may not feel the same. But being worried is choice we make.

I hope everyone gets the resolution they need.
