So I emailed TESC support to confirm if a certain DSST would meet one of the GEN ED requirements under Gen Ed. Here is the curt response from a certain Mr. M "Unfortunately, the College does not plan outside courses for applicants."
... I keep having these canned (and what I consider rude) responses from this guy who apparently deals with the area of my major so I sent in an honest survey last time and now he had the audacity to alter the survey link in his response email this time so it does not work! Wow oh wow...
Am I the only one experiencing this? I read somewhere that it was best to email instead of call if you needed a quick response on a class but this guy is seriously leading me to seriously start considering looking into the other Big 2 instead of TESC... Why enroll if I can't get help with my questions as an applicant?
I've since found the answer to my question but I am just a bit upset over how rude people can be.... Grrrrrr!

I'm sick of waiting 2-3 weeks per reply to email, I could use that movie star feeling. D:
I've been trying to start courses by March, but it took 3 weeks for a reply to my email to waive the age policy(i'm 18). And now it's been over 2 weeks waiting for my application to get processed(which in the email they send you upon applying says "your application will be reviewed by the Office of Admissions and you will receive a letter of decision via email within the next week"),
Out of curiosity, does anybody know if it would be inappropriate for me to contact them "making sure they received my application and any necessary materials", in hopes of them realizing my application has still not been processed? I have refrained from contacting them as I am under 21 and don't want to annoy anyone processing my application, but I also need to be accepted, enrolled at TESC, and enrolled in classes, by about the 20th.
I'm a 19 year old, Software Engineer, who is enrolled at TESC for a B.A. in Computer Science. My bachelors coursework is completed and I am waiting for graduation to roll around. Will start pursuing ALM in Information Technology with a concentration in Software Engineering from Harvard Extension School sometime in the coming year.

After dealing with them for a year and getting nowhere, I finally enrolled, hoping the above was true. Unfortunately, I've gotten nowhere in the two months since I enrolled. I've spoken to several people on the phone and they haven't been helpful at all.
I would switch except this is the only college I can finish through.
CLEP's and DSST's passed: Fund. of Counseling, Tech Writing, Here's to your Health, Intro to Computers, Analyzing and Interpreting Lit, Human Growth and Devel, Intro to Soc., Crim Just, Law Enforcement, Env. and Humanity, Astronomy.
Completed 2 PLA's through LearningCounts.org.
Completed Capstone at TESC.

I initially was met with roadblocks when I first began ( I may have shared my experience on here). I found certain contacts in the school who were very helpful and was able to get many concessions out of them if you ask right and ask the right people. Ive gotten exams rushed at no charge, extensions, was allowed to submit my grad application late, i got my app fee waived, and other things i cant remember in this late hour. There are some rude folks in this school, but you need to treat it like anything else in life and connect with the right people or maybe have to play stupid to let the rude person get over their insecurity and actually want to help ( like they should have to begin with).

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.
