CLEP: Analyizing and Interpreting Literature, studying advice/tips ?

I completely disagree, and I think the fact that you spent 7 hours may well have contributed to your difficulty. I probably spent two weeks just listening to the audiobook I mentioned before during my commute. This test can't be studied for in the traditional sense of memorizing terminology and the like, but it can be "prepared for" by putting yourself in the right frame of mind. Plus I think two weeks or so is a fair trade for avoiding six months in a seat. Rolleyes After listening to the audiobook for a while I found myself using poetic concepts and metaphor a LOT more in my everyday life. Again, I'm the kind of guy who never "got" literature, and it worked.

I don't think this is a test that "anyone" can walk into cold -- there are quite a few people who have difficulty with it, even those who are otherwise "smart" in other areas. Like I said, I am good at analytical reading, but wasn't a creative/literary type. Immersion for a couple weeks or so did it for me.

But before I forget, congrats on passing!

I read your post about the audiobook last night and thought that was a unique way to go about it.

If you can get half of the questions right on the Peterson's tests I would just sign up. Not all the passages are going to make you want to cut yourself after every verse.
