Path Recommendation for 50 y.o. male in US
#11
Electives, got it. Thank you!

Moving on, if I understand correctly, the Pierpont BOG degree requires:
  • 3 credits in communications
  • 6 credits in math/science,
  • 3 credits in social sciences
  • 3 credits in computer literacy

In regards to the 3 credits in Communications do I need to take and pass ALL of these or just ANY ONE of these classes [or equivalent via Sophia / other source]?

From this link: https://catalog.pierpont.edu/preview_pro...turnto=401#

Each one of those is 3 credits from alternate sources. For Pierpont, you only need ONE. You can do Sophia's Visual Communications fairly quickly because it has no Touchstones to grade. Pierpont counts that as meeting that requirement.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

That's correct, you just need to take one class for each requirement, they only require 1 graded credit, the rest can come from Sophia.org, I suggest completing all the Sophia.org classes that do not have any touchstone assignments to speed through them during your subscription. This is to max the UMPI BAS/BLS 60 elective credits, you'll also want to review the links within my posts in this current thread to review the classes required for Freebies, Pierpont BOG, UMPI.

I did go through most of your links, if not all and am currently building some internal documentation to share.

There have been a few things that the wiki may need to have updated

- The American Dream Academy / TADA is no longer available
- UMPI has updated their catalog for 2024, and there are some course changes. Some of which may lessen the Math load
- The Coursera Google IT Support course may now require payment upfront [not sure]

I'm still building a path for the Pierpont BOG General Education credits.

You and rachel83az have obviously been a tremendous help to me and the entire community, thank you both!

The hardest part is getting started. However, once you build some momentum and confidence, it gets easier.

Made a Credly account on Sunday
Signed up for Sophia.org this afternoon

Completed the Visual Communications course in just over 2 hours and Introduction to Information Technology in about 1.5 hours.

I do have a strong background in both fields so I had a bit of an advantage.

Both courses show up in my Credly account. The TEEX ones haven't yet -I believe I'll need to reach to someone there to assist. However I'll complete some more before I make the request.

Yes, exactly what you should do, complete all the TEEX classes worth ACE credit and then as a 'batch', send them to Credly all at once instead of a few at a time. It needs manual intervention from TEEX. While waiting, since you're on a Sophia.org roll, continue on with accumulating those credits... I'm not sure why you're doing them with TEEX at the same time, I usually recommend one provider at a time so you can focus on each one to ladder from the other...

LOL, I got bored of the TEEX format, the slowness, and the repetitive material.

So I took a break to bang out some of the Sophia GenEd reqs Smile

Great stuff, I would now put most of your focus (if not all) on the Sophia.org classes until your membership runs out, then move back to TEEX or the other cheapies/freebies on the WIKI, that goes towards your degree of choice, I believe that's the UMPI BAS or BLS.
