Pausing Study.com? What does it do?
#1
What does pausing my study.com do?

I know I won't be able to take final exams. But will be able to do quizzes? Submit essays/assignments? Login and access my profile?

Pausing your Study.com allows you to do absolutely nothing. You get to the logon page and see a screen with membership info and that's it, no menus. The only thing accessible is the "online help" or "contact us" link. No access to quizzes/essays/assignments, can't even update your profile. Again - Absolutely nothing, oh, you can change your date of return if needed, from a month up to 3 months.

Pausing the account works pretty much the same as canceling it. You lose access to the SDC content at the end of your current billing period just as if it were canceled, and the account remains closed until the restart date hits (or you manually log in to reopen it). The only real advantage with pausing is that it maintains the subscription rate you're paying. Though considering that doesn't change often, it isn't really much of an advantage.

Personally, I would just cancel and restart when I was ready to return. Knowing me, I'd forget that I scheduled it to reopen and then end up paying for a service I wasn't using.

Like the others said, you can't do anything.

I find it really aggravating that you can't even see the courses that you've completed, or your grades. I think it would be much more beneficial to be able to continue to add courses. I understand not being able to work on coursework, that makes sense, but one should be able to see the work you've already completed. I know I can request a transcript but I've got a copy of the last one they sent to TESU on my behalf.

I was currently taking two months off and want to get going again but I'm trying to plan the rest of my degree. I can't really do that easily, short of searching through the courses, then checking my ACE transcript and making notes on what I am planning on taking. While I'm doing all of this research on what I want to take, I'd much rather have the option of adding it to "my courses".
