Peterson's vs. CLEP Scores

I am preparing to take my first CLEP, the US History I. I have taken two of the Peterson's practice tests and have been going through the flash cards. How closely do the Peterson's scores compare to the actual CLEP Scores and how closely do the actual test compare? Easier or Harder? Any advice would be appreciated.

if you score above 60% in 2 out of 3 Peterson tests, dial the test center number to schedule asap. period !

I have only taken 4 CLEPs but so far my experience has been that the Peterson's tests are more difficult than the real thing. In fact, I would say that if you can get a 50% on a Peterson's you can pass.

I will also tell you that you should check the "Specific Exam Feedback" section because that will give you a better answer to your question for each particular exam.

I like a little wiggle room, but if I can get over 55% on Peterson's I say it's time to take the real thing

Peterson tests are not always harder than the Clep test specially when it comes to natural sciences so I wouldnt suggest 50 or 55 but 60% as I said

I got surprised on the microeconomics test. I scored a 64% on Petersons and only got a scaled score of 58 on the CLEP.

Usually what I do is that if the raw score or scaled score is ten above what I need, then I'm ready to take the test. I do this because hard tests only shave off around 10 points on a prepared student's test.

Petersons, though, does come close on some of the CLEP tests - so much that the exact score I received on the Petersons was my CLEP score. Anything above 55 or 60 % is good. I usually get around 64 on my petersons tests and I always pass the test after that point. a 55 may signal the need for a few more days of study but if you have deadlines, etc., then it's good enough
