Petersons vs. REA
#1
well I was about to take the Ed Psych CLEP this Saturday,
I had been studying IC and REA like crazy, knew the material very well....
then I decided to use the free Peterson's link I saw in another post....and I only scored a 48...eeeeek.

So I rescheduled for 5/9......
Now I'm obsessively studying the Peterson's exams and answers......I feel like I'm studying a brand new subject....there's a LOT that wasn't covered in IC or REA.....

Is Peterson's just harder for some reason? Maybe now I'll just get an awesome score.....has anyone felt discouraged after doing the Peterson's exams? I guess it's better to be overprepared.....

I used only REA and IC to study for that CLEP and I was very well prepared...scored a 65! But then again, more studying certainly won't negatively affect your score...

I'm not sure about this exam in particular, but for the most part the consensus on the board seems to be that REA is a pretty accurate indicator of actual test score and Peterson's is harder. It seems that many try to get their score up to 50-60% on Peterson's before they take the real exam.

When I tried Peterson's for US History I, I was very frustrated by getting so many wrong. I decided to just read through Peterson's to get an overview of the info for US History II. Now, I'm studying for American Government and I think I'll try the Peterson's exams again.

Best wishes on your exam!

I wanted to post a quick reply here as well as own my thread (in case anyone searches this thread in the future). I took the test yesterday and despite not doing well on the Peterson's test, I passed! If you go through the IC cards and REA books, you will do just fine.
