Pierpont --- Associate degree question
#1
Hi,

I finally decided to Get an associate degree from Pierpont!

It turns out I have 41 RA credits.

Is the AAS degree the fastest degree to pursue,
using Sophia?

I am planning to transfer to UMPI,
after completing the associate degree.
Any tips or things I should know?

THANK YOU!!!

I think Pierpont's next graduation cycle isn't until August or September, which should give you enough time to finish everything at Sophia. This is almost certainly the fastest Associate degree you can get. A UMPI degree won't be any faster at this point. Almost as fast, though.

wont that mostly transfer to a degree at UMPI?

THAMX!!!

Pierpont to UMPI isn't a block credit transfer. UMPI will evaluate each course individually. We have guides on the wiki to make the process easier.

What a Pierpont degree does do is waive the HS diploma/transcripts requirement at UMPI.

@midnite123, It really depends on the degree you're laddering to, the degree needs to take all the courses as part of the requirements. An example, if you're doing the BOG AAS at Pierpont with any emphasis, you can ladder 100% of the courses to the UMPI BLS with a minor of your choice, as that degree has 60+ free elective credits for anything. Any other UMPI degree will not allow that flexible elective as the major would take the bulk or a huge chunk of that credit.

Hi,

If Someone wants to get an associates degree from Pierpont,
can they just transfer in any existing credits,
or do they have to wait ,
until they have all the requirements met?

Also,
how many free electives,
will be accepted for the Associates degree?

THANK YOU!!!

Except for the 15 required credits, the entire Pierpont degree is free electives.

A student can enroll immediately and start transferring in credits right away. However, it's generally faster to do everything at once and not in small batches.
