Pierpont BOG AAS 2020
#11
There is a requirement for at least 12 credit hours from a regionally accredited higher educational institution. Is that requirement also met with the ACE transcript?

The degree looks better than nothing for sure, but the process was extremely unprofessional. If you need it, like I did, then go for it but it is a tedious process.
WGU BSCSIA (In progress starting Feb 1st 2019)  49/122 credit hours.
PierPont BOG A.A.S 2018

CompTIA A+,Sec+.
SL. Intro to Environmental Science, Intro to Biology.  6 Credit hours.
Brick and Mortar college's 50 RA credits.
Pierpont institutional credit  INFO 2207, INFO 2256, INFO 2305. 9 Credit hours.
Sophia.
Developing Effective Teams, The Essentials of Managing Conflict. 2 Credit hours
The Institutes. 312N-H Ethics, 2 credit hours.
Brick and Mortar College. Eng 205 research writing, 3 credit hours.

CLEP. Information Systems, 3 Credit hours.
Stanford Online. America's Poverty and Inequality Course, Statement of accomplishment.

To be honest now in days you can lie and say you got a degree and no one checks for the most part. Specially an associates, those type of degrees are after thoughts.

You have no idea if people check or not - MANY do.  It's just a few clicks to check a database, so more companies check now than ever before.

WVNCC has that requirement, Pierpont does not.

And no, 12cr from an RA school is very specifically that - you have to have taken those 12cr at an RA school, ACE won't do.

Pierpont does require 12 credits from a regionally accredited institution at least that is what their website says unless they changed it.

But yeah ACE is not regionally accredited.

Yes, changes occurred during the last little while - Pierpoint website was recently updated to require 12 RA credits, 3 @ Pierpont.

I like the fact that WV colleges/universities have an Regents BA BOG geared for adults, they require 24 credits from RA and some schools require half of them taken at the university. Here's an example: https://www.marshall.edu/rba/

What caught my eye was this on the Marshall webpage:
West Virginia Remote Online Collaborative Knowledge System (WVROCKS)
WVROCKS offers important benefits, including:

Accelerated courses that can be completed in eight weeks, instead of 16.
Accessibility: WVROCKS delivers education directly to your computer, 24/7, at home or work—anyplace Internet access is available.
Affordability: $250 per credit hour.
(I then googled for their webpage) - https://wvrocks.org/
Study.com Offer https://bit.ly/3RTJ3I9

Pre-Med Online, MSc Biomedical Sciences (Starting Jan 2026)
In Progress: UoPeople BS Health Science

Completed: UMPI BAS & MAOL (2025)
TESU ASNSM Biology, BSBA (ACBSP Accredited 2017)

I saw the 12 and think it is the way it has been for awhile but what about 3 at Pierpont where you see that?

“I'll let the Registrar confirm, but I do believe that even just a 1-credit course completed will then give "the system" the ability to generate  a transcript.

We have a great 1-credit on-line class called "Exploring Career Opportunities."  It may be redundant if you already have a career, but you could likely provide some great feedback for discussions.

I emailed Nancy about it today.

I just had an email exchange with Pierpoint after sending a summary of my credits in Excel format.  RA credits; CLEP exams, and ACE transcript.  I exceeded the 60 hours   The response is below:

"Hi, Brian.

Thanks for your email. I'm forwarding this to the new BOG coordinator/advisor, Mr. David Beighley and the college Registrar, Mr. John Davis.

It appears that you've met all graduation criteria, but nothing can be declared official until we receive all official college transcripts from each of the colleges and ACE and AP.

Mr. Beighley can send you the BOG admissions form and answer any other questions you may have.  You're likely looking at an August graduation provided your transcripts are received in time.  I don't think a May graduation would be possible.  Please know, too, that without any Pierpont classes on your transcript, you can be issued a diploma, but not a transcript.  If this is an issue, I'd recommend you enroll in a summer class at Pierpont.  We do have at least one 1-credit on-line class that will meet that requirement for a transcript.

Nancy Williams Parks"

I'll pursue the AAS because I do have a little bit to go on my BSBA and having *something* in a degree spot instead of *in progress* on a resume to me is a good thing.
