Please advise if you think these two courses would duplicate
#1
I've taken Freshman Comp (3 units) at a local community college a few years ago in which satisfied my English Requirement with Excelsior. My question is if I take the CLEP English Composition (6 units), would Excelsior accept the 6 credits or would they consider it duplicate with my Freshman Comp?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if they'd put the Eng Comp credits in your general electives because 50% of it likely duplicates the content of your freshman comp class. (Since English Comp covers Eng 101 & 102 - or whatever numbers your school of choice uses)

If anyone knows this, I'd be interested in finding too, I'm always up for another 6 easy credits.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote, genius. I am not selling anything nor am I working my way through college, so let's get down to basics: you are a rabbit and I am going to eat you for supper. Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

Bachelor of Science in PsychoRabbitology degree
Master of Education with a specialty in Rabbit-specific destructive munitions (or eLearning & Technology, I forget which)
Doctor of Philosophy in Wile E. Leadership with an area of specialty in Acme Mind Expansion - 2017 Hopefully

MY best guess is that the first 3 credits would duplicate the course you took and the remaining 3 credits should be able to be posted to your transcript under humanities credits.

Of course that is just my best guess, with something this specific the best thing to to ask your Excelsior advisor.

Excelsior College no longer allows splitting six credit courses and using only three of the credits, and you can only have up to six English Composition credits, so the CLEP English Composition exam is made useless by the fact that your Written English requirement uses three of the six English Composition credits permissible on your transcript and you may not fill the other three with half of your CLEP exam's credits.
