After reading all the posts about the Big3 - I tried to get started at EXC and TESC. I've now paid for my transcripts to be sent from my previous schools TWICE, and both say they have never showed up. When I had them sent to Park, they were credited to me in just a little over a week. So what gives? Is there a secret to getting the transcripts to EXC and TESC? Should I pay to have them sent certified? Is the easier degree plan worth the hassle?

When I enrolled at TESC, I had my transcripts sent to me and then I forwarded them in one envelope to TESC. They got them and I had my evaluation completed within a few weeks.
You can do it that way, however, the catch is you absolutely cannot open the envelope/s when they arrive at your address, because then they will be considered unofficial records.

Is the hassle going to keep you from earning your degree? That's your call.
TESC is slow- but they will record as soon as your transcript arrives. Evaluation can take 7 or so weeks. Use your student ID and pull up your account to check. If both TESC and EC stay the transcripts didn't arrive, maybe it was your original college that didn't send them? Certified isn't a bad idea if your anxious.

I personally didn't have any problems when I sent my transcripts to Excelsior. I had transcripts from four different schools that had to be sent. When I first enrolled at Excelsior, I was concerned about my transcripts arriving, so when I ordered transcripts, I ordered a second copy to be sent to my home address. This way, when I received my copy, I was fairly certain that Excelsior would have received the other copy within a few days.

When I sent my transcripts, it seemed like forever! Give it some time and yes, send it certified. Good Luck!
