what Clep tests to take first?
#1
Hi! I'm a new member & just starting my educational journey with TESC.
I'm wanting to test out of as many courses as possible for either a general liberal studies BA or psychology BA. What Clep tests are the easiest to tackle first?

I did Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, College Math, Social Sciences and History, French Language.

They were all quite easy in my opinion but it's a matter of your own personal strengths. For the introductory ones I really recommend doing 6 credit exams, it feels good to get that big chunk of credits right away, gets you off to a running start
Goal - BA Mathematics Major at TESC
Plan: International AP Calculus Teacher

B&M (Philosophy, Psychology, Calculus I/II, Physics I/II, Discrete Structures I/II, Comp Sci, Astronomy, Ethics)*42 credits

CLEPS (College Math 73, A&I Lit 73, French 63, Social Sciences and History 59, American Lit 57, English Lit 59)*42 credits
TECEP (English Composition I, II)*6 credits

If you speak another language do that first. If you're halfway decent at reading and answering questions about comprehension, do Analyzing & Interpreting lit. If you're comfortable with numbers, the College Math CLEP is an easy one. (ha ha - I'm not good with numbers hence my low score, but I did pass!)

These are all 6 credit tests, so it's a great way to get a solid start. Other than that, as mentioned, pick something you're interested in regardless of how easy or difficult it's supposed to be. I loved the Substance Abuse test and based on working several years in medical software sales and taking a pharmacy tech course, this was relatively easy because I already knew all of the info about prescription drugs and only had to learn about the illicit ones. I also really like politics and really enjoyed studying for American Govt even though that's a "harder" test.

Look through the testing list, read the forums and schedule your test - now.

Edit to add: If you've ever done any sort of professional writing or are just good at writing, check out the technical writing test. I also thought that was relatively simple, but might be a bit tougher if writing isn't your strong point.
