Trying to decide between taking Principals of Management through CLEP, Straighterline, or Study.com. I initially was planning on taking it as a CLEP, but after reading the exam specific thread I'm thinking that the exam may be a bit difficult. With that being said, have any of you taken this as a course through Straighterline or Study.com, and what are your thoughts? Also how long did it take you to complete the course?

I took it through SL. SL courses can be done quickly, but it depends on you. I can't remember how long it took me, but max would be 2 weeks for any course I have taken with them. The key with SL is to get the ebook so you can search/find the answers quickly on exams. You do not need to watch the videos as it is a waste of time.

I did SL for this. It is very straightforward. I don't recall, exactly, how long it took, but it was certainly less than a week. As AngelaP said, the ebook does most of the work for you (also, it's included in the course fee now, so that's a bonus).
Either study.com or SL will be pretty straightforward for this course. Study.com will require you to complete 139 simple five question quizzes (getting an 80% or better on each) before taking the final and your final will count for 100% of your grade. There are videos (139 of them) to help you learn the material. If you prefer reading, there are transcripts of the videos as well. If you like videos over reading a textbook, this is the option for you.
SL, on the other hand, has only four assignments (open book quizzes directly from the book), a midterm (longer open book quiz that will likely have some repeat questions from the first two assignments), and a final (again, open book and likely to have some repeat questions). The book counts for 100% of the learning materials. If you like textbooks, this is the course for you.
With respect to price (and assuming you can complete the course in one month): SL will cost a total of $170 (book included). Study.com will cost $200 (with no book to buy), BUT you get two final exams each month for the fee, so if you can manage two courses in the month, the cost is only $100 each making it cheaper than SL. For example, if you need to take Intro to Marketing as well, you could easily knock out both Principals of Mgmt and Intro to Marketing in one month for the fee.
ETA: I should say this, too: I studied for the CLEP for this and ultimately decided to do SL because it was simply less work for me and fit my schedule better given that all the open book assignments are practically word-for-word straight out of the book. That being said, I think the CLEP isn't all that bad. There are IC cards for it, and some excellent study guides in the specific exam forum.
Hope that helps!

I took the CLEP without much studying and passed. But I had some previous business experience, and previous business courses, so I thought it was easy - everyone won't have the same type of experience to draw from.
That being said, it's very difficult to compare the 3, because no one takes a course more than one way! Some people might take different courses using the 3 methods, but never the same course.

My son is a junior in high school. He is using Study,Com to earn transferable college credits. He finds it an easy way to learn, study, quiz, and review for the actual credit exam. The Proctored exam directly covers the material in the course which makes it harder for you to fail and waste your money. The Proctored exam is just worded with more detaisl. Principles of Supervision is an overlap that you may want to take first. Good Luck.

I don't know if the test has been revamped, but when I took the CLEP, it was extremely easy.

Like some of the other posts, I found the CLEP very easy but I have previous business experience.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I'm just gonna go for the CLEP. I'll also take the Principals of Supervision DSST on the same day to get the most bang for my buck and to get the most out of my studying. I hear there is quite a bit of overlap.

I've actually decided to go with the SL course due to my schedule and the CLEP testing center's availability. It looks like the E-Textbook for this course is $151 in addition to the $99 monthly fee and the $49 course fee. I thought the E books were included with the courses...? Anyone know where I can find the required E book for a cheaper price?

I still see a $69 option with included text:
