Principles of Management
#11
snazzlefrag Wrote:Anar,

Principles of Supervision covered topics applicable to lower level line managers whereas Principles of Management covers the same content but then takes it further and also covers topics applicable to upper management.

The concepts, theories, and theorists are the same for both subjects so there is a LOT of overlap.

As I said, I took both on the same day in addition to Intro to Business. All three were very similar since Intro to Business includes sections on Supervisory and Upper level Management. I had also taken Principles of Marketing a week earlier and that helped me on the Intro to Business exam too.

I just took DANTES Human Resource Management yesterday and, if I had to do this all over again, I would certainly group this exam in with those I mentioned above.

Organizational Behavior would also fit in with this group of exams.

The same names, terminology, concepts, and theories just keep popping up in all the business-type exams! It's pretty cool actually!

Good luck with your exam next week,
Snazzlefrag
Thanks for the insight Snazzlefrag.
The exams are said to overlap and simply focus on different aspects. But that's such a broad statement, it's good to know details. Smile

Thanks for your confidence booster. That is a great help. The reason I am particularly annal about this exam is that it is my last exam that I am taking that doesn't have another option. I mus take principles of management and a mistake could cost me easily $2000! Then I only have a social science to take. I could fail it and still have time to take another but Princ. of Man is my only option in this catagory. I'll still do each practice exam and study instantcert somemore.

Thanks again.

Definitely study your butt off until it is time to take the exam Sammy! You are already in prime position to do well on the test, but you shouldn't rest on your laurels if this is an all or nothing exam for you.

Go all out!

Hi upgray,

I like the COMEX series of study books. I have used them for a few of my exams now, and I think I actually prefer them to the REA books.

Take care,

Comex Principles of Management is and excellent and condensed study book for the Clep exam. I highly recommend it for its simple layout. It follows instantcert almost to a "T" so I think instantcert is sufficient. I like the petersons exams.

Alright, my test is tomorrow. I got a 70 and a 76 on the petersons practice exam and a 72% on the Collegeboard Clep Official study guide. I will take on more practice on petersons tonight. I know that snazzlefrag is probably thinking, "Just take the d*m* test already. You'll do fine." But can always use some final encouragement before an exam.

I used petersons as well as the official study guide for my preperation too. If you're scoring in the 70's you will pass no sweat. Don't over cram before the exam: a couple of hours before go through the flash cards here on Instantcert and a few minutes before the exam review the questions you missed on the official study guide and you'll score really well. GOOD LUCKBig Grin

Ha ha!

By the sound of it, you are TRULY good to go Sammy!

This was one of the easiest exams (after studying of course) that I have taken so far.

I have no doubt that you will pass with a very high score tomorrow.

Good luck,
Snazzlefrag
