Hi all, this is my first post and I have to say that this site has been very helpfull in finding out ways to complete a degree faster! I am currently taking SL courses and have about 60 hrs in classes complete! I would have never found SL if it was not for this site.
I was looking at the reqs for TESC BSBA in CIS and wanted to know if a few certs I have will apply to the requirement?
I currently have A+, Net+, and Sec+. I am going for MCITP:EA, CIW JavaScript, CIW Site Designer, CIW Web Foundations, and Project+.
Would javascript be ok for the programming req?
I am also looking at the AAS in Comp studies to hold me over until the BS is complete. They want 21 credits in comp studies and they do not give any course guidelines and I am hoping these certs will suffice.
Anyone taking this and have some certs that they transferred, what requirements did they fill. thanks.

From what I've heard, COMPTIAs are transcribed as CAP. From a forum search, most people have said that they are free electives; one person got them transcribed as business electives. Back in 2007, someone had Network+ transcribed as a CIS elective, but things change.
Here is how TESC transcribes Microsoft certifications.

I sent TESC an email last week about the AAS in Computer Studies and just got a response today. I was told that courses with the CAP prefix could be used in the program. Tread with caution though because different advisors will tell you different things. I don't know if all CAP courses will be allowed.

My goal is to transfer all credits needed without taking a single course for my degree, but it is very hard to figure out what certs go where. I don't want to overlap with anything and I had seen on another thread that there are a couple Microsoft certs that will apply to CIS and others that are CAP and similar, but not CIS. I have not seen any info for CIW certs for TESC or Project+ either. As for the AAS in Comp Studies the 21 credits required for that requirement if they could be fulfilled completely by certs, what would they be?
Also can you talk to someone at TESC without applying and get some good answers?

Information on certifications approved for credit, and how the administration reviews certifications for credit begins on page 200 of the 2011-2012 catalog.
