Purdue Global BS in Cloud Computing - Plan Review

(10-03-2021, 07:03 PM)LevelUP Wrote: ss20ts do you know if the Purdue ASK assessments count towards the 75% of credits you bring in?  Or can you bring in your credits, do Purdue ASK Assessments first, then start the ExcelTrack at a later date?

If you click the link at the bottom (view additional info), it takes you to the CLEP exams pdf:

I don't see anything on this page about ASK assessments. My husband transferred in his courses from RA colleges and Sophia. Are the ASK assessments PLAs? His advisor did not recommend PLAs because they're more work than the actual courses.

No way to put lipstick on that pig. I think the choice is clear.

"Demonstrate proficiency in the learning outcomes of specific Purdue Global courses by passing a comprehensive assessment, which is similar to a college equivalency exam. "

The cost is $100 each I believe.

Just for fun, I threw together a plan in about 5 minutes just highlighting courses. Should be the same as the OP except for maybe the English Comp.

Thanks everyone! My original post was from the middle of August.

Since then, I've decided on the following path:
  • Sophia / 11 courses / Aug 2021-Sep 2021 / DONE
  • SDC / 4 courses / Oct 2021-Nov 2021
  • AWS CSA Architect cert / 11 course equivalent / Dec 2021-Feb 2022
  • Purdue Global ExcelTrack for remaining 7 courses + capstone / March 2022 - ???

Sophia, SDC and AWS courses bring in 135 quarter credits (75% of total) to transfer into the degree program, the maximum allowed. I'm hoping to be done in two or three 10-week terms ($2,500 per term).

I've re-opened the Google Doc to anyone with a link:

Sophia History I is one of their tougher course since it has multiple answers for each question.  History II is much better.

For Study.com be sure to always score 100% on the quizzes.  You get 3 guesses for each question.  Then you only need 55% on the final to pass the courses.

Full Architect course:
https://youtu.be/Ia-UEYYR44s

Udemy has some practice exams and courses.

GL on the cert.

My daughter called to schedule courses for next term, and this course was available to take.  She also said that she heard this course was being discontinued, and her advisor said that she had not heard that.

I am REALLY hoping that they get rid of this, as it will make her life 10x easier with this 1 less course to take (she's taking the major and a bunch of other courses but if she doesn't have to take this one, she will be able to finish in August just before she starts her other program).  Fingers crossed your husband's advisor is in the right here.

The biggest complaint I see about Purdue is that they slow you down with things such as 'Module-Gating' which the next module won't be unlocked until they grade your paper which takes 24hrs to grade, then another 24hrs before they finally unlock the next module.

You can get around that if they let you take multiple courses at the same time.

In the end, 2-3 terms of ExcelTrack is probably how long it will take under optimal conditions to do the 8 courses/(45 credits).

Really weird! This course has been removed from my husband's degree requirements. It was removed last term and his advisor requested a reevaluation of his transfer credits as they are filling it with an elective. He's in the Analytics ExcelTrack. I wonder if it was only for this degree? His advisor made it sound like the class was completely discontinued.

My husband doesn't have this problem at all. he always has at least 2 courses going at the same time. Sometimes he has 3 courses open. Often times it does not take 24 hours to get the assignments graded. He's had some back within a half an hour which is pretty crazy.

Thank you TS for your excellent Excel, its very helpful. AWS CSAA could bring 61 credits, what if we already have 100 transferred from somewhere else, so we only need 35 out of possible 61 credits from AWS CSAA, does anyone know if such thing allowed, transferring only 35, not full 61 credits out of a certificate ?

If you transfer in more credits than you need, they will actually just boot courses out of what's left to do.  Meaning, no matter what you transfer in, you still need to take 45cr at the school.  If you have all of your GE and Electives done, and even if you have a lot of the major done, you can just choose whatever courses you want to complete the major and then electives.
