Question about essay format in English Comp I @ study.com

Hi everyone,

I'm completing my essays for Engl Comp I and have a question for those of you that took this course through study.com:  the first essay is expository, and I understand I am to have an APA style bibliography. Did you also do the whole paper in APA style? I've always used MLA so APA is very unfamiliar to me. I can find many examples to follow but a simple 6-800 word essay doesn't seem to fit exactly with having a "running head" and abstract and so forth. 

Here's a link to the assignment. I plan to have the bibliography and in-text citations in APA format but wondered if you thought it would be ok to just keep the body simple. I am seeing some overlap between MLA and APA in terms of 1" margins, 12pt Times type, etc. What did you do?

The next two essays are personal narrative and then persuasive and don't appear to require a bibliography so I think I can safely assume MLA would be ok in those instances.

It's likely I am overthinking this.

You can always resubmit if the grader counts off for format. I have not used a cover page or running head on any of my Study.com assignments. I have only used in-text citations and references in APA format at the end of the assignment. I used the usual 1 inch margins and 12pt Times Roman.
