Question about mooc
#1
Hi I want to know if you think carry any weight on your resume by taking multiple mooc courses like lynda, edx and coursera. I am taking some mooc courses and I am think do it carry weight? If it does not help too much, I rather spend time to get legit professional certification. Also I don't want to take too many courses it will show to easy to get mooc certification and it will make my resume less value.

I think that for someone who's been away from school for a while, they can show that you have fresh knowledge in an area. Also, it might be useful to list them on LinkedIn so that you come up in more searches, even if you don't necessarily put them on your resume. Mostly, I would take them if and only if you are really interested in the subject and feel the MOOC is a good way to learn it.
