I have a DSST Money and Banking test tomorrow morning and I read some people saying they took an online practice test for $5. I was hoping to do so on my computer tonight before the test.. but after I hit a speed bump during the registration and further reading, Can they only be taken at a testing center?
I had my hopes up that i could register and take the practice test at home as a last minute gauge of where I am at..
Can someone give me a quick confirmation of this? I just want to make sure I didn't miss any back doors to this..
Thank you.

Yes, you can take the practice DSST tests at home. You have to have a username and password...so, I guess you will need to go through "First-Time Registration." I have taken several...it has always worked great, for me!
Hope that helps!!!

Yes, you can take the practice DSSTs at home. I've taken one before. Try "First-time registration" if you have never taken one before. Once you have a username and password (it will be different than the username and password you use for the actual test), I think they have options as to which kind of test you want, and you can select "Practice Test."
Here's the web page:
https://ibt1.prometric.com/index.asp?ibt=5533868670&. Registration is a small link at the bottom. You can get to the page from the main web home page.
Hope that helps!

I tried making a new account because I read that I should not use the same username/password I use to take the actually exams.
I was registering and it required a test center code and wouldn't let me proceed..
That's as far as I've gotten but I'll keep looking at it...

GOT IT!!!!
To easy of a mistake.. When selecting the test I accidentally clicked "DSST" instead of "DSST Practice Exam", My eye didn't catch it when i first looked at it.
Anyways, If it wasn't for your quick responses i would have not bothered trying again.
Thanks a bunch!

What exactly do you get for the $5? One PT or more? Yours forever or is there an access time limit? Can you review it after finishing? Are there explanations? Pardon all the questions but you guys are the best people to ask!

just took the practice test, 5 bucks gets you unlimited access to the test for 24 hours.. 35 questions on the M&B test and explanations. Pretty general explanation though.. "This is the answer because of this", not as detailed and in depth as petersons where it tell you why the other are incorrect and even explains what the incorrect ones are.

And I believe there is just one practice test available, not several different ones, so if you pay $5 don't expect to make several attempts over the 24-hour time period to see different forms of the same subject.
