REA guides general exam v. specific exam

I'm considering taking the CLEP Humanities and SS/H exams soon and was looking for some feedback on the REA study guides.

It appears there is a general exam guide as well as guides for each specific exam. Is the general guide sufficient, or does the additional depth of the specific guide really make the difference?

I used the Introductory Sociology REA and I thought it was right on point...

I think I get what you are asking. We already had the REA General Exams book which had Humanities as one of the subjects. I then ordered REA Humanities. I found the text was nearly identical. Both had practice tests on a CD-ROM. I felt a little silly. Both books covered the basics of the Humanities exam (both include a text and practice questions) and gave pretty good prep but I only needed one or the other. I highly recommend getting a REA Humanities that offers CD-ROM tests. COMEX also has a great section on Literature and Barron's English Literature and Comp gives the best practice we found for the Analyzing portion of the test.

I also suggest reading the exam specific feedback and we would have used IC had I known about it at the time.
