Dealing with Spammers

Moderators/admins you are going to need to set a time limit on new posters ability to create new threads. Also you need to start blocking certain foreign email domains.

There is a limit to how many posts can be made in a day.

If we blocked people from posting soon after they sign up, that would be too restrictive.

I did create a MyBB plugin that uses ChatGPT to stop all these spam posts from new members. I haven’t heard back from the admin on this yet.

I agree, you don't want to block new users from posting but maybe limit them to one new thread a day and then gradually increase that. There is also another option of requiring moderator approval any new users first post before it is seen.

Our admin/webmaster probably has a multitude of activities to handle, it may take some more time before they (the owners of DF) decide to implement something or not...
