Look for a circulating copy from a local library, or an old edition sold by an Amazon Marketplace seller fulfilled by Amazon, meaning it’s ready to go in an Amazon warehouse.
My library is the worst but that's a great idea, I should be able to find *something* there!
Crap ok that makes sense, I thought it would just be like complete screensharing and they'd be able to see I was just using Purdue Owl. I have used ProctorU before but it's been a very long time so I don't remember.
Thanks again!

Also review what recommended OER materials there are in the PDF for the respective TECEP exams, sometimes they provide several very helpful freebie or low cost options that may have some content they'll be using for the TECEP exam...

I am going to get a manual today but haven't been able to narrow down which one I should get.
I did look at the TESU page about the test but it's not the same as hearing from someone who has taken it, so any input at all about this TECEP is appreciated lol
Will you please report back how it went? I'm considering the tecep too.
Good luck!

The BAin4Weeks forum had some great info on doing CLEPS. The Princeton Review Crack the CLEP was a great source from what I've heard and provided some mock examples for a wide range of exams that you could take. I as well would be curious to hear how this goes as I've never taken TECEPs before, but I'm sure that with TESU, its a much better option of similar cost value with the added benefit of it being weighed as RA on the transcript

Thanks again for the tips.
I used the MLA Handbook and it was enough to get me through it.
The TESU guide was pretty accurate about what to expect.
My advice would be to familiarize yourself with the MLA Handbook in advance, if you don't already know it or APA.
I would learn "in-text citations" beforehand if you don't have much time to prep, because that part is very simple/straightforward I feel, and easy to remember so that when that part of the exam comes up you won't have to dig through the book you can just do it and move on with more time for the harder part. Quoting and Paraphrasing are also in that section, so I'd read about that in advance too. Again, simple/easy enough to learn quickly and remember I think.
If you are not sure how your grammar/punctuation is, do the practice one on the TESU guide. I thought the one on the test was slightly harder than the example one, but not that hard really. Again, another part that is pretty quick/easy to prep for if you don't have a lot of study time.
The hardest part for me by far was the "Works Cited" page. I wish I had been more prepared for that, but luckily I did the rest quickly enough that I had plenty of time to thumb through the book for all the variations thrown at me. There were only four references to cite, but they did pack a lot of different things into them I think, lol.
Anyway, I have experience with essays but limited/old experience with citations, and am a nervous test taker, and I managed it in under two hours and they give you three. I don't know what the grade is but luckily it was enough! lol
Good luck!

Citation machine is a great source to create your citations/references. It has pretty much every format imaginable. I'll be honest, I don't remember all the rules for citations, and high school/college didn't do a very good job in introducing me towards proper citations. However, as I've written more and professors over the years have pointed out errors, I've gotten significantly better. I was still making mistakes, even in my Master's studies. One thing that I have been using recently is leveraging AI to check and make sure that my citations are correct, and it has been doing a great job in catching some minor citation errors.
