Retaking a course for a second degree?

icampy Wrote:What are TESU/COSC's opinion about working on a degree from each of them at the same time? And how far apart can their graduations be? As in, you graduated from TESU a month ago, so it's no longer "concurrent" at cosc, it is just a "second degree"

They don't allow being enrolled at the same time. Graduate, then enroll in the second one Sad

In another school where both are Bachelor's? If the other Big Four don't, that's very limiting, but still interesting.

Or two of their "schools" simultaneously? I would like that part.

Enrollment in two programs at COSC or enrollment at COSC and another school? A lot of schools allow for simultaneous enrollment. The schools ask that they be informed of the other school. You won't be able to graduate on the same date at two different schools simply because the graduation dates are usually different. Once you finish the first degree, you'll need to meet the new credit requirements for the second degree.

So you're saying that I could enroll for a history degree at COSC, and use the history credits that are fulfilling gen ed credits at TESU for a history degree at COSC?

As in, enroll at both TESU and COSC, finish the TESU degree (with lots of history courses in the gen ed section/human cultures section), then fulfill the rest of the courses and finish the COSC?

That is news to me. I thought the new credits rule applied no matter what. But if you enroll before graduation of the other one, it is not a "second degree" but a "concurrent/simultaneous" degree?

COSC

"Concurrent Degree Policy
A student cannot concurrently earn a degree using substantially the same courses at two different institutions. Prior to completing the application, the student must seek approval from the Director of Admissions. The request for approval must include the field of study of the degree being sought at each institution and the courses to be included. The student must demonstrate that s/he will be taking at least 30 credits that are not in the other degree program. The 30 credits must be in the concentration and a minimum of 15-18 must be at the upper level."

yes because there is little overlap between the two.

No, COSC would not let you get another history degree if you were already getting one at TESU. Why would you get the exact same degree at 2 different schools?

They are doing the BSBA at TESU, so history should work at COSC.
