Study.com Pricing
#1
How does the pricing on SDC work? I can't see the pricing without creating an account and I don't want to do that just yet. I see people say $200 and $60 on here, but I'm not sure what you get with each plan. Thanks!

You can find all the plans and pricing here:
https://study.com/academy/plans.html

Most people will end up using the $200/month College Accelerator plan, because that's the one that lets you take final exams and pass courses. The other, $60/month plans will let you study and pass quizzes, but not finish courses or receive credit.

The way College Accelerator works, every month you pay $200 and get two test attempts free with your plan. If you finish classes quickly, you can take up to five test attempts total per month by purchasing additional tests at the reduced rate of $70 each.

Within the same month, your costs will look like:
  • 1 course finished - $200 CA subscription (test included), $200 per course
  • 2 courses finished - $200 CA subscription (test included), $100 per course
  • 3 courses finished - $270 (2 tests included + 1 additional exam), $90 per course
  • 4 courses finished - $340 (2 tests included + 2 additional exams), $85 per course
  • 5 courses finished - $410 (2 tests included + 3 additional exams), $82 per course

With $40/mo, you get access to just the videos. Nothing else.
For $60/mo, you get access to the videos + the quizzes and practice tests.
At $200/mo, you get to take exams for credit. 2 exams are included, up to 3 more can be purchased at $70/each.

If you need (mainly) more extensive courses, it may make sense to subscribe at a lower level for a month or two to watch the videos and research the paper(s) before switching to the $200 level to submit your assignments and take the exam.

Hopefully they made it clear that you are on a clock with SDC.  Now if you are rich, don't worry about it, just have fun.  But if you like saving money you need to take 5 exams per month until you are done.  If you get bogged down and can't do that then either pause your accelerator membership or drop down to the premium membership.

Does the work save when you switch from $60 to $200?

Does the $60/month plan allow access to test prep material and practice exams for TECEP and UExcel?

Basically, the $60/month plan has access to everything except exams. If you're going to get the maximum bang for your buck and take 5 classes, you can sign up for the $60 plan, do all your quizzes for your 5 classes and then switch to the $200/month plan. Then take your exams (first two included, next three are $70 each). The month resets when you sign up for the $200/month plan, but they will give you credit for the unusued portion of your $60... so if you do all the work in the first 2 weeks, you'll get a $30 credit toward the $200.

Then, you can use the rest of the college accelerator month to study for more classes.

In my experience, all of your work and progress is preserved, even if you cancel your subscription and come back months later. Also, you *do not* have to complete the papers required for the upper level classes by the end of your college accelerator month (though they certainly try to imply otherwise.) So you can take your exams and then cancel your subscription, and then upload your papers (there's a special link) even a month or two later, and you'll still get credit for the class.
