SL question
#1
If I cancel my subscription with SL after completing a couple of classes, take a few months break, and then reactivate my subscription, will my credits still be there? Or do I have to transfer them to ACE before cancelling the subscription?

Everything will still be there. You can transfer to ACE at any time, active subscription or not, since that is done through the ACE website -- not the SL one.

I'd request them to ACE right away, there is absolutely no reason to let classes site in limbo. Its 100% free to have them put on the ACE transcript. It only costs to have the ACE transcript sent to a school. Also there is no "Transferring" to ACE just adding. I do believe that SL will transmit scores to your school directly if its a partner school someone can verify that?? I was actually going to post that question so here works too.

Sl transfers directly to WGU at no cost. Not sure about other schools. I'm making sure my son's credits all go to ACE as well, just so he has everything in one place for his records. He may need to also send his SL courses directly to WGU to activate the "scholarship"/discount they offer for completing a certain number of SL courses.
Here Researching for my son, who has done the following:
Community College: Intro to Philosophy, Fundamentals of IT, English Comp 1
Saylor: Intro to Business, Principles of  Marketing, Corporate Communication
Shmoop: US History 2 (WGU won't accept this)
ALEKS: Int. Algebra, College Algebra
Study.com: Personal Finance, Principles of Finance, HR Management, Global Business, Advanced Operations Management
Straighterline: US History 2, Environmental Science, US History, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, English Comp 2, Principles of Management, Business Law, Business Ethics, Psychology, Organizational Behavior, Accounting 1,Communication, Managerial Accounting, Statistics
Ed4Credit: Managing Information Systems
Sophia: Project Management
WGU: Bachelors in HR Management

Second son is currently attending Penn Foster for his high school diploma, then on to Ashworth for An Associates in Criminal Justice

It is my advice to NOT bypass the ACE process, even if your school is a partner school. Having it on the ACE transcript protects you if you transfer out of the partner school!

In addition, I have found a large handful of colleges that accept SL credit when it's on ACE and not directly - the Alternative Credit Project is this way, so in short, do both. Also, I'm with Synicaal - do this asap. I request the add on my son's transcripts the second they hit "submit" on their final exam and see a passing score.

For me, in requesting credit for my son, I have to do it right away b/c if I wait, I won't have any clue what date to put on the completion date field on ACE. It's easy enough to just request as soon as the course is completed rather than to wait and do them all in bulk.
