Passed CLEP Mathematics with 70 (Small review)
#1
I passed with a 70! My Bachelor degree is now complete! I can't even explain how much it stunk to finish my last class and celebrate with friends in the class, only to know I still had a CLEP test to pass!

The review part will be posted in the review section also.

Anyways, I am 26 haven't done any math since 22. Started studying a week ago and everything looked foreign to me. Bought Princeton's Cracking the CLEP and Barron's CLEP book (More on these later), as well as CLEP's official study guide test.

I studied nightly but found myself not seeming to soak anything in. As today approached I began to get scared. Last night I was panicing because I got about 40% right on practice tests.

Went in today, score of 70.

Heres the thing... The Barron's book threw me off. Its EXTREMELY hard. I rarely could get an answer right and any of their 4 tests. I think its possible to get a 10% on the Barron's and still pass the real test. I realize a practice should be harder than the real thing so the person knows what they're doing, but the Barron's is hard to the point that all it does is bring down your confidence and make you feel like re-scheduling the test.

The Princeton book was very good and helped 'dumb down' the intimidating mystique that a CLEP test can give a person.

The CLEP study guide test was considerably harder than the real test, in my opinion, but was helpful.

As for the test.... The first 2/3rds of the test was definately easier than the last 3rd. I was surprised how few combinations/permutations/probability questions were on it. I expected a lot more. Instead there were a bunch of function questions, and graphs, which I wasn't prepared for. But the test is easy enough that its not hard to plug in answers and/or guess and probably get it right.

Anyways, I'm done with school (for now). Good luck to everyone who takes it!
