Should I take Technial Writing today??
#1
I took that tiny DSST practice test today.. (it was 12 questions) and I only got a 42% on it. However, I keep reading how easy this test is. I'm also confused because I took that "practice test" last week and I got a 50%. Since then I have read a whole other book. I really don't know why my score didn't go up. Any adive?? I'm supposed to take this test today.

If you have never taken a CLEP/DSST before I would say no do not take this yet.

If you have taken and passed other test then you can better gauge if you are really ready.

Did you look at all the specific exam feedback?

Can you afford to wait 6 months to retake if you don't pass?

yes, I've taken many tests. I think I have about 70 credits now from CLEPSs and DANTES tests. lol and I still have to ask adive...

I've always relied heavily on my practice tests scores to know if I'm ready or not. This one is throwing me off because I feel like I've studied enough.

I would say if you know the parts of a proposal and the parts of a report you are off to a good start, the major part of my exam was grammer, which is not my strong point. I did pass with plenty of room for error, this test is also one that has a very high pass rate in the military listing. (someone has it linked here somewhere.)

So don't let the practice test rock your confidence it is too small a sampling.

What time are you supposed to do this and what book did you read to study?

Ok, thanks.
I'm supposed to take it at 1:30 today. I still have some time to review.
I read Technical Writing 101, but didn't find it much help. I also read The Elements of Technical Writing by Gary Blake and Robert W. Bly.
