So I just paid for membership on InstantCert. All I can find is flashcards. No plan. No practice tests. Nothing but flash cards that don't even have explanations with them.
What the heck did I just pay for? Please help.

That's what InstantCert is, which is what thousands of people are quite happy with. InstantCert is also the subscriber only forums. Although you can search the free forums and find information about exams, there is far more information posted in the subscriber only exam specific feedback forum. Many, many people find this expanded source of exam feedback to be quite valuable. Perhaps you should check that out before reaching a conclusion.
If you want a plan, you might want to look at this site: Free Clep Prep.com
This free forum is paid for by InstantCert. If you have issues with the flashcards, contact customer service instead of posting here.
The flashcards aren't for everyone. What works for one may not work as well for another. But thousands love the flashcards. Everybody is different.

"This free forum is paid for by InstantCert. If you have issues with the flashcards, contact customer service instead of posting here." SAY WHAT?
I'm glad he posted that information here. I don't see anything wrong with his querry here at all. He wasn't thrashing it, he was just wondering if that is all that comes with it. Maybe that wouldn't be for me neither.

I took Sociology yesterday. I ONLY used instacert to learn the material for the test.I got a 63 with that. instacert info is really all you would need. I did however, take a petersons practice test as well to gauge my rediness and review those that i got wrong. I would suggest taking psychology with it or next because they overlap a quite a bit.
Also, I have only been at this testing stuff since April, and i have found instacert to be pretty spot on with the material provided. Make sure you read the explanations and understand the concept; if not then google, wiki, post or iTunes it to get some help.
Welcome to the fun!

Did I say woofshark was trashing it? No.
Did I say woofshark did anything wrong? No.
Did I tell woofshark not to post here? No.
Might woofshark want a refund? I don't know, but customer service would happily explain what the options are. And I said to contact customer service IF there were issues to contact customer service, which is appropriate if there are issues.

I love the flashcards because I'm a verbal/visual learner (I learn by reading) and I have a short attention span.

I re-opened my Instant Cert account last week, and the first time the flashcards loaded, they were also missing the explanations. I shut down for a while and when I returned a second time to figure out what the deal was, they worked correctly. There may be an issue with new accounts, but mine worked once I came back later. By now, I assume you have closed all the way out, so if they are still missing explanations following questions, you may need to contact customer service.
What you should be seeing is a question with a blank. You can either enter an answer or just click "Next" (the scores do not matter) and an explanation that goes into detail should come up with reinforcing information. Those explanations are where the bulk of your learning will come from, so if they are missing, there is an issue that will require customer service help. There are no practice tests or plans, but having used InstantCert to study for and ace two exams so far, with a third in the works, I have joined the cheering section. For some exams, you can use IC exclusively. For many, you would want to use an additional source or two, and use IC to reinforce the concepts through the different format to drive home the important topics.
With the paid membership, you also have access to the specific exam feedback forum, where other test takers offer suggestions of terms or concepts that were on their exams that other testers should be certain to study. Without the specific feedback section, I do not think my last two exam scores would have been nearly what they were. In both cases, I thought I had a good handle on my study plan and hit IC about a week before the exams just to brush up and be certain, and in both cases, I had missed rather important pieces.
