Study.com, but that's the only one I took, so I'm biased ;-)

I can give you a reason that the Public Speaking TECEP is a decent option:
● Test format: o 20 multiple choice questions (20%) o 4 short answer questions (20%) o 2 pre-recorded presentations (7-10 minutes each) (60%) ● Passing score: 70%. Your grade will be reported as CR (credit) or NC (no credit). ● Time limit: 2 hours for written and multiple choice portion. 2 pre-recorded presentations of 7-10 minutes each. You will need to create and submit two (2) recorded speeches with visual aids (PowerPoint/Presentation Software Slides) before taking the online portion of the exam. It's kind of the best of both worlds - a test, so you get it over and done with on one day, and the ability to do your speeches ahead of time. Still shorter than a course. Also, as someone who has taken a bunch of TECEP's, I think their Exam Guides are VERY thorough, and have actually gotten better over the last few months. Lots of links to free prep as well. And at $75 for LL TECEP exams, the price is right too. https://www2.tesu.edu/tecep_desc/COM-209.pdf I've never heard anything terrible about SL or Study.com for this either, so it's just a matter of choice at this point.

Example: My gf has decided to become a nurse, she’s just starting, she wants (and needs) to do science prerequisites at NMJC in a few months. Will NMJC tell her that she needs accuplacer, CLEP or a CC class?

You can download the study materials for free, just create an account. You pay when you are ready to take the exam. The exam is taken from the powerpoint presentation. There are 10 "essay" questions on the exam, but they only require a couple of sentences to answer. You can guess the essay topics by looking for slides in the ppt that have bulleted lists or a paragraph of info. Rewrite those slides in your own words and memorize them. On testing day: Skip ahead and take the essay portion first then go back and take the multiple choice part. Be careful not to click the submit button after the last essay question. Only 1 speech is required. Write a 5-paragraph persuasive essay and record your speech on your phone using a teleprompter app like BigView. I did video for mine but others have said they turned in only audio recordings.

I really found Straighterline enjoyable and easy to get through.

How are the Study.com/SL speech courses structured? Do they require a recorded speech like the DSST or the TECEP? If so, how does that section work (e.g. DSST you are given a topic and have a certain amount of time to write a 3-5 minute speech, whereas based on dfrecore's post I can see that the TECEP lets you do your speeches ahead of time and record them)

The first is 3-5 minutes and "celebratory" (AKA a wedding toast or speaker introduction....I personally redid my wedding toast), the other two are 5-10 minutes and informational and persuasive. The latter two also require a slide deck, while the former doesn't.
