Study.com new pricing $95/mo

Before you do that, you want to finish all you can with what you currently have, otherwise you lose the work, cancel and finish the classes before the subscription cancels, you want to do all you can with the current subscription first. For existing or past members, you can't get onto this plan, you'll have to create a new account. Don't forget to use my Study.com discount code link for your new account, are you doing the $235/month College Saver for upper level classes?

I think when Study.com dropped proctoring, this was their plan all along to lower the price and compete more effectively with SL and Sophia.

Oh wow, so not everything.

Btw for noobs, you need to go to this url first on Study.com
https://study.com/academy/course/index.html

Then select education level/college and goals/transfer credit/online college credit which will filter it down to 214 courses.  Otherwise, it can be a pain to find courses. that are only college credit.

StraighterLine is much more expensive as they're $99/month and any course you take, you have to pay for it. Sophia.org/Study.com combo is right now the go to options, Saylor.org is another option for $5/class, Straighterline would be good for classes not available on any of the previous three.

In regards to checking what classes are available at Study.com, I usually look at the Study.com corresponding equivalency class or exam table instead. I look at the ones for particular institutions I am interested in. We even have a WIKI for this: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Co...ding_Tests

Once you're at the max of 5 per 30-day window, there isn't anything more you can do. Unless you start an additional course and work on quizzes. I did notice they would not let me do anything other than restart my existing plan. I reached out to support and will see what the response is.

They won't budge.

"Hello,

Thank you for waiting. We want to let you know that this feature is currently available only to new members. Since you joined us back before these updates were introduced, it isn’t included in your current plan. We appreciate your understanding.

There are no more $70/extra exam or a 5 final exam/month limit!  It's going to be 2 at a time for starter and 3 at a time for saver... That means, if you're really quick, you can pay $95/month for lower level credits, and another $235/month for upper level credits, all you can consume!  This is actually the real competition to Sophia.org now for lower level!  Sophia.org and Study.com remains the combo I recommend...

Ya that's what sucked most about Study.com for hardcore accelerators was the exam limit per month.  I think maybe they got paranoid after the Shmoop debacle, which is why maybe they put that policy in place.

Having no limits is a welcome change  Smile

I reached out to support to receive a clear answer regarding the final exam limit per month.

Here is the question I submitted:

With the new College Saver plan, will there be a limit to the amount of final exams that can be completed within the month?
________

Here is the response I received:

Hello,

That's a great question! There's not a limit to how many exams you can complete in the updated College Saver plan, but you do need to be enrolled in a course to complete the exam and you may be enrolled in a maximum of 3 courses simultaneously on College Saver.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Stacy

Just to elaborate and sum things up, if you're looking for ACE recommended credit options, Study.com recently launched new plans that are well worth checking out. Study.com alternative credit courses hit my trifecta of cost, ease, speed to finish while balancing quality learning...

College Starter – $95/month: Unlimited courses (in a month), enroll in 2 at time (lower division)
College Saver – $235/month: Access to all upper + lower division, enroll in 3 courses at a time, with no limit on how many you can take in a month

No proctoring, no busywork, 100% online and self-paced
Final exams are now open-book/open-notes

If you're resourceful and strategic with your energy, money, time management by pacing your workload, and if you can complete about 6+
courses a month, that equals roughly ~$15 per course (College Starter).

Here's my link if you're looking to check it out further: https://bit.ly/3RTJ3I9

Wondering what others think about the changes with Study.com, are these changes what you were looking for?

At this time, you cannot switch into one of the new plans. You can create an account with a different email address but your past progress will not be transferred.

I tried to create an account with a different email address and it only gave me the $235 option

I wonder if its because during signup it asked for my phone number and saw it already had on record from an old account

I closed the page and didn't finish the sign up

I guess I could sign up for the $235 version and then try the downgrade option and if that doesn't work just cancel completely within the 10 day free trail period

Doesn't matter if you use a different phone number or not, it still doesn't give you the starter option when you create a new account.  They only place I even see it mentioned is in the support FAQ.

I finally got it to work after looking around.  Create your new account like normal with a new email and phone number.  I used Google Voice to generate the phone number, then you need to add one of the courses that fall under the College Starter plan that Hotdogman1 linked in the first page.  That finally updated the pricing plan from the Saver.
