Study.com practice tests vs final
#1
How do study.com's practice test compare to their final exams?  Are the scores resonably comparable?  (looking at precalc, calc, and geometry).

I don't know about those courses specifically, but your final score will generally be within 5-10 points of the practice test. I.E., if you get an 80% on the practice, you will most likely get 70-90% on the final score.

With SDC you need 210 points out of 30 to pass the course. If you can get 100% on the quizzes (not the practice exams), that gives you 100 points. For math classes, that means you only need to score a 55% on the final in order to get 210 points and pass. One thing to remember is that only the first 3 scores for each quiz count. For instance:

1st attempt: 2 out of 5 correct
2nd attempt: 4 out of 5 correct
3rd attempt 3 out of 5 correct
4th attempt: 5 out of 5 correct

SDC will register your score on that quiz as 80% because the 4th attempt doesn't count. You may take the quizzes as many times as you like to familiarize yourself with the material but it's still only the highest score within the first 3 attempts that will count.

The downside is that after you score 5/5 on the 4th attempt, you won't be able to see your real score (best of the three) but they account for it when they calculate your final score after the final exam.

My score was almost exactly the same as the practice test in the last course I took (Business 311). Questions were different but score was VERY close.

I agree with rachel83az. I never took a practice test before except for my last class. My score was within the range she quoted.

Here's my strategy for you.

1. Memorize text materials from each sections
2. Take a bunch of practice final exams
3. Copy and paste questions and answers from final exams to your text editor and save them.
4. Memorize the questions and answers from practice final!

You'll be able to pass many study.com courses by using this method.
