EC degree plan credit assistance
#1
Hello,

Thank you all for the assistance so far. I think I am decided on EC because they awarded about 20 more credits than TESC but am still awaiting COSC. I need to fill the following classes for the degree and was wondering if anyone has a list how PF classes equate to EC? I think my problem will be UL requirement. I don't know if some of these management classes are available via another method and I guess its ok if they are not but I need to knock them out. Just looking for ideas on credit alternatives for the needed classes. Thanks

Best way to know for sure is to contact the school; however, I do know straighterline gives you an idea of what the course equivalencies are to their partner schools and of course Excelsior is a partner school. I am not positive but for your english I doubt business and technical writing would work just because ACE reviews it as technical writing. I would naturally suggest just doing the CLEP english test, but if you wanted you could do Penn Foster or Straighterline course for it. I don't see why Business Ethics via Straighterline wouldn't work; however, check with Excelsior. If it doesn't work there are DSST exams and ECE for ethics. Please do ALEKS for all your maths and use the mathway tool to assist you. Arts and sciences you could use a mixture of cleps, dssts, ece, straighterline, or any ACE approved courses. I believe a lot of posters on this forum use Penn Foster for information literacy requirement. I am not sure what course, ask someone here or ask Excelsior. You could also probably use the TEEX courses for an additional six credits either for electives, computer courses, or perhaps management (TESC transcribes one as managment). Either way I presume you are going for a business related degree, so get all the cheap business courses you can. Saylor.org offers a lot of cheap credits for about 25 dollars, CLEP and DSST's will probably run around a 100 dollars after the sitting fee, Straighterline offers courses for really cheap and consistently run specials such as buy one get one, there normal price is around 150 bucks a month (Could be cheaper than CLEP/DSST), ECE's are still good deals and you shouldn't have to worry about transferring them, TECEP's are nice too, not too mention there are several independent study courses through colleges that are self paced and reasonabily priced, last don't forget about Penn Foster for some upper level business courses (just make sure they are ACE approved). If you do enough research on this forum a lot of poster's have designed degree plans for each college and major. Do a little research, ask a few questions, then verify it with the school. Good Luck
