TESC BSBA in Finance - Degree Plan

Below is my degree plan for a BSBA in Finance at TESC. All courses have either been approved for application to my degree, or have already been completed and applied. Online and distance learning finance courses are available through Columbia College, Adams State College, Fort Hays State University (they only post them right before the semester starts), and a few other colleges. Penn Foster offers a possible applicable course, but never had it approved for my degree.
RULE #1: Always get courses approved before taking them.

Wait, I'm confused about something. TESC's Finance Credit Distribution (Thomas Edison State College | BSBA in Finance Credit Distribution) has this note:

"Financial Institutions and Markets (Thomas Edison State College examination) OR Money and Banking (DANTES examination)."

Yet you list both in your degree plan. ???

My assumption based on that statement has always been that you couldn't have both applied as they'd be overlapping credit. Were you able to get both applied in the area of study? If yes (since it seems to be the case), did you question it with them before hand or anything? I.e., what gives?

I've had all three approved and applied towards my degree. I made sure to double check because I thought that one of them might duplicate. Here is what they are listed as on the eval.:

Well, I have a little knew information on my degree plan, or rather what TESC has adjusted it to be. I had taken FINC 295 Risk and Insurance from Columbia College back in January. I was later told that it wouldn't apply, after having it approved. I've questioned the applicability of the course 3-4 times. So, since they said it wouldn't apply, I found another course that would apply. Now they tell me will apply.

Below I've posted a few of the emails that I've sent to TESC (omitting all names) and received.

Sent to TESC:

"Dear ________,
On my evaluation, you had said that TECEP FIN-321 Security Analysis & Portfolio Management was going to fulfill one of the finance requirement. You had told me that FINC 295 Risk and Insurance would not fulfill this requirement, and that the TECEP FIN-321 would. Now you are saying that FINC 295 will apply, but my previously approved (and formally listed as planned) TECEP FIN-321 will not apply? I am very confused now. Could I get some clarification?

I am very sorry for the confusion. Please allow me to explain:

The course, FINC354 Investments, from Columbia College was incorrectly equated during the initial evaluation of your program. I have changed the equivalency of this course to FIN-399 to allow for significant changes to take place.

Although I had originally stated that FINC295 would not apply towards your area of study, I doubled checked with a senior Business Advisor who indicated that I could use it towards your specialization. The course originates from Columbia College's Finance department and can fulfill 3 credits in your major.

By making these changes, you will now see that your area of study is complete and that the FIN-321 exam you completed applies towards the Business elective section. It is no longer a duplication of any other course.

Again, I apologize for confusing you. I hope that the above explanation has clarified things for you. When you access your evaluation, please also note 6 credits open in the General Education elective section.

I'm still left confused after all of this, but hopefully this may in some small, SMALL way help others avoid the mistakes I've made. I'm now doubting whether TECEP FIN-321 Security Analysis & Portfolio Management will actually apply to the degree. As the email stated, its now listed as a business elective for me, most likely because I have enough finance credits.

Moral of this story, its not enough to get confirmation from the advising department. Make an appointment with an advisor and go through your plan. If I did it again, I'd go to the senior business advisor at TESC.

Does anyone know a class that I can take to substitute for BUS-363 Managerial Finance (Adams State College) that would be non proctored TESC? I am looking to complete all of these courses in the same format
