TESC Does Accept UC Berkeley Extension Courses

First, I sent an email to the Office of Academic Advisement just to have an advisor tell me that UC Berkeley Extension courses are not accepted. My gut told me that this person was wrong because TESC advisors are wrong a lot, and there was no reasoning given behind not accepting these courses. I replied to him asking for an explanation, but didn't wait for it. I went ahead and emailed the registrar because the phone number listed for them led me to some Caribbean cruise contest. Oftentimes, the registrar will just forward your emails to an advisor, but I told them in my message to please not forward it to advisement because they are often wrong. So, I instead received an email from the Senior Learning Services Representative, thankfully.

Thank you for your email. Yes, we do take credit from UC Berkeley Extension because it is regionally accredited. However the credit must be indicated to be undergraduate or graduate-level credit. Thomas Edison State College does not accept professional development or professional/postgraduate credit in transfer. I tried to look up the UC Berkeley transcript key but it did not indicate their course numbers. I know you said you were having concerns with our Academic Advising Dept but I would highly encourage you to get course approvals for any courses you have not already completed.
